Could someone check two of my save games to see if they're corrupted? I recently corrupted my SD card and had to start over. Would love to have these two save games again. It's Fire Emblem: Awakening and LoZ: Ocarina of Time 3D. I attached them to this post. They're from before my SD card got corrupted because I backed them up on my PC. JKSV gives me a "error opening save archive" so if anyone can help out, that would be great.
OoT checked with my physical copy. Checks out.
Edit: Basically, it's good and worked on my end. So not sure what to tell you. Ummm are you using the correct region .CIA files? I don't know if that would make a difference.

Ah ok! I have Powersaves as well so it should be fine!
My last question, i know almost nothing of what i have to do after i get the system to install everything safely without the risk of brick, and here in the forums there is a lot of topics, but i get really confused because each topic has a different subject.

Is there any step by step guide since the beginning at what exactly i should do? Backup nand, install emunand, homebrew, games and all that stuff?
Use The Guide.

Only if you want A9LH tho. And be sure to read it all and follow it to the letter. Also, be sure to do a system format prior to doing the downgrade.

^This.
But format with Tinyformat rather than from system settings. Just drag the 3ds folder to the root of your SD then run the app when you get homebrew access

Thanks, it was a guide like this that i was looking for! Will read everything.
But i dont know exactly what is A9LH, is it a new method or something?
What i basically want to do is install the games i want to play, and use homebrew to pkhex pokémons into my original omega ruby cartridge. and will i be able to go online with the omega ruby cartridge?
Is this gonna be viable with this method?

A9LH is basically the newest method for CFW. It's explained in the guide and stuff. And you'll basically be able to do everything you just asked for.

Hello,

I just got a9lh yesterday using Plailect's guide.

I was able to dump a couple of my games and make them into cia's using decrypt9 and 3dsconv.exe that someone made a tutorial on.

i have a eur n3ds xl but my cartridges are US. am i able to use ciangel/cdn-fx or something to download game updates?

not the dlc - game update, like it asks when you boot up when you are in-region. i don't think i can update out of region games through eshop.

also be able to play online, like mario kart?

thanks for your help

You should be able to use them, if they have the updates on it. Check out freeShop (plus encTitleKeysUpdater that goes with it)

Well if your only intention is to play out of region games that you already own, homebrew access is the only thing you need. This is possible on all 3 of your consoles, though for the US one, you'll need something other than Cubic Ninja (FreakyForm Deluxe being the best choice right now).

As for your 2 Japanese 3Dss, all you need to follow is this:

1) Download the starter kit here: http://smealum.github.io/ninjhax2/starter.zip
2) Place all the contents from the .zip file onto the root of your SD card and place it back into your 3DS
3) Turn on your 3DS and make sure your internet connection is working
4) Start CUBIC NINJA on your console, choose "Create", then "QR code", and finally "Scan QR code".
5) Scan the QR Code you made for your specific firmware version (generate here: under the Get Ninjhax bullet http://smealum.github.io/ninjhax2/ ) . This step might take a couple tries; make sure you fill up as much of your 3DS's screen with the QR code. If scanning the QR code returns to menu with an error, try a few more times.
6) Follow the on screen instructions. You may choose not to install the exploit to your gamecard's savedata, though doing so is not recommended.
7) Once you're inside of Homebrew, open up the RegionFree App and run your US games :)

--------------------- MERGED ---------------------------

3DS and emulator roms are able to run without an additional flashcart once a CFW is installed. If you want to play DS games, you'll have to buy a DS flashcart or wait for the DS emulator to progress enough for the games to be playable (https://gbatemp.net/threads/wip-3desmume-ds-emulator-for-3ds.430223/).

Hey bro thing is, my cubic ninja is a US Copy, and itnwont read in my Japanese 3DS... how do I get around this

You can't. You need either Homebrew access to have region-free or CFW to play out-of-region carts. You'll need a Japanese copy of it.

Oh crap , well how about this how can I get my US New 3DS to play my Japanese Copy of Pokemon Ruby. (I ALREADY UODATED THE FIRMWARE TO 11...)

if it's not on the list, I have an o3ds that is US that i will a9lh with next weekend, am i able to download the updates legitimately on it (or some fashion) and make those into a cia/transferrable form if they don't have the updates?

also can you play out of region cias online, like mario kart?

You'll need a cartridge based entry point that let's you use homebrew on 11.0. Since Cubic Ninja has not been fully fixed on 11.0.

Ah, I don't think so. I am pretty sure they should have the updates tho. You could always hunt for them on that iso site or other places. I guess.

Yeah, you can play out of region games//cias just fine, but for online play, you'll need to use Config.cia (Google it - can't link to it) to accept the EULA of the other regions. Then you should be fine.

Did you do Part 4 Section IV in it's entirety? You need to flash your RedNAND to SysNAND via OTPHelper. You can't just try to boot RedNAND and skip to Part 5. It doesn't work like that. We need 2.1 on SysNAND, so we can get the OTP.

You can't just stop at step 10... If you have an error related to NFIRM, step 10 tells you what to do and how to troubleshoot it, not to skip to the next part of the guide... step 11, relates to what to do if you have any other error, and to basically re-start at 8, once you flash emuNAND_formatted.bin to your RedNAND if you had an error that causes the downgrade to fail. Step 12, is just information in regards to why you will get a black screen if you even attempt to boot your RedNAND. Step 13 is what you need to do once you have finished the downgrade process. Go back and continue from Part 4, Section IV, Step 13, and finish it properly.
