Exactly before posting any idea you should research and gather all available I formation if Luglige had done that he would have quickly found out why this idea would never work. It only took me about 10 secs to Google the I found why this would not work for instance
I don't get why you're so mad at me dude. Did I still your bitch or somethin? This is like my second time talking to you xD

not possible. unless you don't wanna go to jail
I don't get why it would be illegal. It's not like its illegal to give access to homebrew :P All it does is boot somethin from the SD card.

I'm gonna be really honest. In the past, there have been A LOT of people with the exact same idea you have. The idea isn't necessarily to bad, it's just execution you kind of have to work on.

Personally in my own opinion, I don't think the idea would necessarily work, but I can't really stop those that have different ideals.

The difference I would have made though, is bringing your idea out to the public after you purchased everything and became an official Nintendo licensed developer. That would've shown the public that your more confident and you have have the ability to do so.

Saying and doing are two different things. My 6-year old cousin can say she wants to be an Astronaut, but it doesn't mean she'll have the ability to do so in the future.

Make sure if your going to present the idea, that you already have everything prepped so you won't get this kind of reaction from the general public so it can give some confidence towards them.

Thx! Maybe I can come back later when I become licensed.

Well... its kinda already late for that. I mean, you can still become a licensed developer, it's just the public won't have the confidence in you since things like this happen all the time. We have people on this site all the time say they're going to make something happen, yet they quit later and don't really have anything to show. How are we suppose to know if your going to quit the next day?

The people who run this hacking community don't give out their ideas because things change. Things will always change no matter what. Like I said, saying and doing are two different things. It's just a matter of how you present your information. You should've said this when you already had those dev kits and everything ready.

do you realise what you have to do to get a licence well let me inform you

You need to have done some of these

Worked for a game Dev company and help develop a number of games or
Created a number of well known/successful indi games on Nintendo or other systems

Have you done any of them if the answer is no then you have zero chance of getting a licence. In the past Nintendo have denied several well know indi game devs from getting a licence so what makes you think you will get one??

What are you saying? The IOSU exploit and the Shock3DS will be out soon™

(in all seriousness, I completely agree with your post)

Still still still your bitch?

Just focus on finding new exploits thats a more realistic idea my friend

It's definitely not illegal no.
Homebrew itself (made with a homebrew SDK) is legal, running homebrew on gameconsoles, a grey area but legal.
Piracy however is illegal and 99% of the people use exploits for pirating purposes.
The 1% that are actually using game exploits for homebrew are hard to come by.

It sounds like a good idea in theory, but I'm not sure how well it'll work out in practise.

Actually, running homebrew is illegal. By running unsigned code on your 3DS, you're circumventing the 3DS' security, and therefore breaking its TOS (which is illegal).
HOWEVER, Nintendo won't sue you over that, because they know they wouldn't win in court (this already happened in the past iirc).

Also depends on where you live.
It's a grey area, Some methods are illegal like flashcards/modchips and some aren't documented/classified in any way.

If I where to get a new 3DS and run it over with me car, I can do so.
If I where to get a new 3DS and run Linux on it, I can do so.

Ofcourse Nintendo doesn't want it but I'm not tampering with the 3DS in order for me to engage in illegal activities ie. piracy and running copyrighted code.

Not entirely true it depends on what country you are from. Here in Scotland homebrew is totally legal and you are allowed to mod your console whatever way you want as long as it's not to play pirated games.

Hey I got an idea! Why don't we bribe an underpaid and overworked Foxconn daily wage worker to sneak a bootrom exploit into the 3DS assembly line? That way every single 3DS made will be exploitable!

Don't give me shit, it was just an idea!

Well that idea is at least 1 million times better and more likely to happen than the dumb idea by Luglige.

The best you could do is make a legit game and 'accidently' leave a vulnerability and then either let devs find it or tell them
However keep in mind that as soon as the exploit is released since this is a random indie dev (you) they won't hesitate to take the game down straight away.
Now if you could manage to publish a gamecard game however.... B-)
