Ah. The problem now is that the games on it were almost all actual eShop games that I don't have cia's for, and it looks like I can't redownload them from the eShop anymore after formatting. I tried using Shameless to get back one of them (smash), but it redownloaded the whole thing, and my save file is gone.
Edit: And even after installing some tickets that way, the eShop shows nothing in the "redownloadable software" list and nothing in the "installed software" either, even though Smash is installed.

Oddly enough, after the format, Zelda: Four Swords instantly appeared without me installing or downloading anything, and the save file for that still works.
You need the CIA's no other way around it and "install" them.

Did you at least backup your saves with JKSV? Also is your 022-2634 problem fixed?
Yeah, formatting fixed the error, and no, I don't have JKSV backups. I do have a backup of everything that was on my SD card though, so if I copy back that + restore NAND I think I should be back to where I was before formatting.

Thanks for all the help! One more (and probably the last) question: I installed Devil Survivor 2: Record Breaker, but the 3DS keeps telling me there's an update for the game. If I download it directly through eShop, it appears to download something, then says "update was installed", but it still asks to update. If I manually install the update cia, it finishes instantly (implying it actually is already installed). If I click the "confirm update details in eShop" option, it gives an error code that apparently means the update doesn't exist, or something.

This a known problem with some games, nothing to worry about.

This happens when someone converts a 3DS version of a game incorrectly. I would download a different CIA to remove the error.

Wait, really? I used Shameless to download that game. I would have thought it would generate "proper" installations.

Try deleting the game, removing the ticket entry with FBIV2, then install that game but made with FunKeyCIA using the titlekeys site.

Same result.
Edit: Never mind. Official update feature still doesn't work, but installing the update through a QR scan with FBI worked!

OK, I've got as far as to install A9LH from the instructions here (https://github.com/Plailect/Guide/wiki/Part-5-(arm9loaderhax)). I've completed steps 1 through 3. Do I need to convert the games currently on the Gateway card to .cia, or can I continue to use the Gateway card to run them? If so, how?
I'm wanting to move to an Updated SysNAND install, preferably on 11.0 to have online access. The EmuNAND I've currently got is a Gateway build, with some legitimate (purchased through eShop) titles on it. I'd like to have all my gamesaves from the Gateway card (apart from one I'd like to convert from the original cartridge), along with all the purchased eShop content. I have some DSiWare titles purchased, but not installed, as they wouldn't work from the EmuNAND (due to not also being installed on the SysNAND; there was nothing installed on that of importance).
EDIT: I believe the current boot order is something along these lines: A9LH -> SysNAND -> MenuHax -> CTRBootManager -> Gateway .3dsx -> EmuNAND. I'd like to drop the last four steps of this.
