Hey guys I own a old 3ds that is on 10.3.0-28U, looking for a flashcard that supports 3ds roms on my current firmware, Also I will eventually get a new3ds (non XL) so I need it to support that as well. From what i was reading into i think Gateway 3ds is what i need but not 100% sure so I wanted to know what you guys think as well as what sites are trusted for the purchase. Thanks

you don't need a flashcart anymore. it's useless now...
don't update to Firmware 11 before doing the guide.
use the guide on my signature to downgrade and install a9lh
you will be able to install roms\homebrew etc

if you really want a card. i suggest you sky3ds..
gateway is useless now.

yes you can follow the guide...
no, do not format it...
follow the guide letter by letter and you will be alright.
in fact it explained on the guide that in the end you will end up with everything you had before for example your installed games, saves etc,,,

a sky3ds is not that useless because it works kinda like an optical disc emulator on other consoles.. you can just put the games and run them on any console with no setup..
as for the gateway.. you require setup and it doesn't bring anything worth to pay the 50 ducks or whatever is the price now...

A format doesn't make you update, it does require you to be connected though if you have an NNID linked, but that's just so it can unlink it from the system.

That is correct. Same is true for o3DS as well.

Yes, browserhax is very inestable in some versions.
Someone said that the rate of success grows up if you add some GET parameters to the url (like the ?random from before)

The Gateway 3DS cart will work for both the O3DS & N3DS. That's what I used. You would first need to downgrade your 3DS's if they are above 9.2. Since you are on 10.3, then you need to downgrade your system like I am doing now. I used the Browserhax to install homebrew. After installing homebrew, then you need to run the sysUpdater within the HB launcher.

Try going here
select the proper firmware and model and press the "download ropbin" button
rename that file as "browserhax_hblauncher_ropbin_payload.bin" and put it on the root of your sd card (delete the webkit-thing file too if you have one)
and try again.

I did it and after half dozen tries i only managed once to get another red screen freeze. I noticed that it loaded faster, the screen went straight from yellow to orange.

EDIT: after another dozen tries it finally launched hbl and now its working fine on boot. Thanks for help. I guess it was all instabillity to launch based on my firmware (10.5.0)

So you can run CFW without the Gateway 3ds carts? I was unaware. I will look into a9lh to install my CFW for my new 3ds after I downgrade to 9.2

Hi guys,
I really need some help. I have an old 3ds with firmware 4.5.0.0E. Also a gateway blue/red card. I can't get the gateway card working, because the browser is not working until i do an online update of the firmware. Also I have CN, but it can only be used from firmware 4.5.0.7. Is there anyway I can still get my gateway card installed..?

Is it true that if i upgrade to 9.2 sys, that i can install my gateway somehow and begin using cia files? If true than i will update through gamecard..

I'm glad to hear it worked somehow.
If I were you, I would install menuhax which, at least, has a better boot rate

Yes, there are different variants of sysupdater like plaisysupdater or safesysupdater, but they are more or less, inestables too.
I used the sysupdater that was in the same thread that the 9.2 pack I used in "that iso site" (I thin it was julian20's version).
I would recommend plaisysupdater or that julian20's sysupdater but either way you'll probably need to try more than once to get it run
