Hi, everyone. Long time lurker around the forum. Got a couple questions.

I just bought a New3DSXL and it comes with Reinand installed on it (I don't know how to check the version of it). The firmware is: Rei 10.5.0-30E. Now these are my questions:

1. It comes with the seller's NNID on it. In order to get mine, I've read that I have to format the console. Is this true? In this case, would I lose the CFW? Because I haven't gote Cube Ninja or OOT, so I don't think I'd be able to install a CFW after losing it.

2. Should I stay on Reinand CFW? I've been reading a bit and it seems like a good option, but I'm not sure if I should go for another one or stay on it.

You need to format if you plan to use that same NNID in the future. If not, I think there is an option to completely delete it.

CFW will not dissapear if you format your system, only games and the nnid(temporaly) will.

You can update your CFW or change it just deleting reinand-related files in your sd card and pasting the new ones

Ah, that's fine, then, I don't mind losing the games and the old user NNID since I'll be using my own one.

I'll have a look at updating Reinand in case I need to.

I have an issue with supermysterychunkhax:

I have an O3DS with Homebrew installed.
I put my Mystery Dungeon card in my 3DS and then I click in "supermysterychunkhax_installer"
Then nothing happens, my 3DS keeps stuck in a yellow window:

I have tested it many times and keeps doing the same thing. Also, I have my homebrew updated to the last version.

There's something I've been wondering about V*Hax, Humblehax, and supermysterychunkhax concerning the digital versions of games.

Obviously they're secondary exploits, you need a primary exploit to install an exploited gamesave to the system.

I was wondering if the Home Menu's Save-Data Backup functionality could be an attack vector?

This functionality produces a backup of the save data to the SD card, which means you would be able to bring the save game to a PC or another 3DS system.
Presumably the save game may be encrypted like any other save game, or even tied to that specific 3DS, but we also have tools that allow us to decrypt save data.
By all means, maybe there's a possibility of backing up a savegame, modifying the save using either PC software or another homebrew enabled 3DS, and then restoring the modified savegame provided it retains the unique system flag.

If this is possible, it could change the secondary exploit to being primary if you can accomplish this without a secondary hacked device.

ultra noob question: i have my a9lh setted on a microsdxc samsung 64gb etcc etcc and all works superb,now i have another identical microsdxc(previously used for .3ds games)if i want to transfer my actual setup on that card what are the passages?i formatted into fat32 and 64k cluster and copied all the file for the original card into the new but when i startup n3ds it shuts down immediatly(a9lh related i think)i have emunand and sysnand on original,probably is because emunand that my system doesen't boot with the new microsd?tnx!

How can I make my 3DS automatically boot into ReiNAND just turning it on or pressing L and powering it? I have EmuNAND, but only HBL starts up.

The guide will result in you having A9LH+CFW Sysnand. A9LH basically would allow you to flash a working sysnand backup if you ever brick your sysnand, as A9LH works before sysnand boots. There is basically no need for sysnand//emunand split on an A9LH setup, unless you want to for whatever reason you decide on.

Thats true. To be honest, I dont care about online play so I am prob just going to go with a A9LH setup. As a community, do we know what the failure rate is for a NTSC N3DS when it comes to going through the guide you sent me. I've modded many consoles before so I do not think I'll screw up due to user error although you never know. I see the guide says some exploits are unstable. Do we know to what degree or has it been random so far?

The only big risk that I know of is that your downgrade could fail, however recovery should still work, though that would push you the latest 11.0 firmware, which would mean you'd need to get a hardmod.

Yeah I saw that in the notes on the guide. Well if I do get stuck on 11 at least I can rename my NH payload to work for arm11 at least.
Its too bad we cant do some sort of DNS reroute to get a fake update on the 3DS.

Hello, I just installed the bootntr and and copied the ntr bin to my sd card. I can use ntr cfw fine but my problem is that I visited many guide and thread and most of them just says to download the plugin and put it somewhere. Where do I put the plugin files?

Do you have boot.3dsx on the root of your SD Card? You should have gotten this from the Homebrew starter pack.

Were you booting into emunand in your previous A9LH configuration?

Hi guys,
I really need some help. I have an old 3ds with firmware 4.5.0.0E. Also a gateway blue/red card. I can't get the gateway card working, because the browser is not working until i do an online update of the firmware. Also I have CN, but it can only be used from firmware 4.5.0.7. Is there anyway I can still get my gateway card installed..?

It is.

I always recommend performing a backup of your emunand using Emunand tool before a firmware update in case the worst happens, but you can update from 10.7 to 11.0 no issue.

Also, the homebrew payload from 10.7 works for 11.0 as well.
