Is this the Beginning of the End for the AI Bubble?

doesnt matter how much money they lose they arent going to stop. this isnt about short term profit. its about control. people are coming to the realization that AI isnt being designed to help humans.

theres alot of reasons why its a net loss and part of that is taking a good chunk of the profitability away from the average human.

at the top they arent losing anything but numbers on a spreadsheet to get this done.
 
It will be interesting to see if/when the cost of using AI goes up, if many companies stop using it.
But I'd imagine, for most at least, they won't really be able to stop - as if you competitors are using the tool that can build something 5x faster, you'll probably need to use that tool too.

As for the "bubble" though, no idea. I just simply think that AI is here to stay.
 
A lot of states and counties are straight up blocking the creation of data centers now given the resource consumption and what that means for the average person's utility bills

yes, ive heard of that. Good on them i say!!
ive seen a documentary about one of those datacenters near a rural village. it was EASILY 1km away from a house where two seniors lived and the noise was STILL deafening, not to mention the water, electricity costs OR that their house was suddenly worthless, because no one in their right mind wants to live there now.

The number of them that have popped up across the US is kind of crazy. They're at over 5300. The next highest is Germany, which is about 521. I doubt most people would care about them if they didn't suck up so many resources. Instead of worrying about the impact on the population, they just keep investing money into making more of them.

Just some extra clarification on that number.

Out of 5,300 about 90% of those are traditional data centers. Those use 5-10x less energy than AI centers. The remaining are the energy and water guzzling AI centers along with most new centers which are being built today.

oh i see, so thankfully not QUITE as bad as i thought!
 
they built a couple data centers in my area and local people here have been totally against it but that hasnt stopped them. the city council created a task force of people to handle it that are unelected officials. those officials showed up to town halls and didnt answer questions and said they had NDA with microsoft and amazon on the seperate data centers and couldnt provide all the details.

the whole city council is probably getting voted out of office next time we have an election. we dont have any way to recall them in my state but by then its too late the damage is already done.

My sibling works closely with finance, and he has been noticing it in the stock trade industry. The entire reason I messed with AI is to have an "AI was so much fun, until that one guy ruined it!" scenario; seems my efforts are paying off.

satan's machinations such as combat sports, AI, etc. are all fun and games until I turn them around to hurt his pride.

Corporations see AI as a safe bet no matter how unprofitable it is because so many governments and politicians are heavily invested in it. If the bubble pops, they're guaranteed to get bailed out by taxpayer money anyway, the economy at large be damned.

This makes me think about a time in US history when they went from horses to big oil companies to support new production of vehicles such as Fords model T's and how worried people were about pollution now America runs on oil and every gas guzzler vehicle to get to point A to point B it's just more recent the only other option we have are electric vehicles which more than likely will result on being fueled by Ai data centers.

Can't tell you how accurate this image is of oil production is today but the idea is probably right.

Of course those who have the biggest dollar amount control how healthy the environment is sad but true.
