Hacking Im about to attempt to upgrade from rxtools, to Luma with A9HL. Any suggestions before I start?

Crashing at the red screen? Did you download starter.zip from https://smealum.github.io/3ds/ and copy /3ds/ and boot.3dsx to your root? (I thought you already had it, but apparently not... I should have mentioned that, sorry!

Ok. Now I am stuck and need some assistance. I am at the part where it told me to boot to homebrew launcher and run decrypt9 and go to Emunand options. I dumped the hs.app and fbi.cia to the input folder in universal inject generator master and ran go.bat. It created the fbi inject with banner.app which I put on the root of my SD card. When I put my SD card back into the 2ds, I click on Health&Safety Inject under Emunand options but it doesn't give me the option to select the fbi inject app. Any ideas?

Maybe someone mentioned this before me. But, do make sure to have at least two working pre-A9LH sysnand dumps. Save them to multiple locations. Without them, you will be doomed if ever something happens during the process or later for whatever reason.

I think that's covered in the guide too actually: It even asks you to verify that the filesize is correct.

Did you make sure you put fbi inject w/banner.app on root, and pressed up/down/left/right to look for the file when it asked for a file to inject?

Yes. It says it failed. But I think AI realize my error. I cut the hs.app out instead of copying it. Could that be the issue?

It is indeed mentioned. Still, it's good to emphasize on it since some people might ignore it. Just look at that poor guy who has a problem with his N3ds and he has no sysnand dump.

Exactly why I made several plus I have one from when I very first started with the 2DS

Edit - I got it working. For whatever reason, I had to put it in the decrypt9 folder. But! On to the next step. Thank you guys for all the help!

Now backing up my Nand and Emunand once again, this time with OTP Helper, because the guide told me to

It seems to have worked. It rebooted back to the sysnand.
