Got smash bros booting! Won't work in game as CROs incomplete. Small little change to code had to be made and suggest you don't mess with it as it is instable.

Can you give me the save file of Smash Bros 4 m8? I'm still stuck on the "cannot synchronize until GSP event has been created" error. I tried one of the save files from your site and it still has that error.

Unofficial progress is great can't say that for official .
The citra team needs to work together more effectively & follow one direction rather than many.

They are actually working together. It's just they have different codes for their commit like MerryMage for the audio, Subv for the CRO, and so on. Once their work is done, they put it in the Master Build of Citra(which is the Nightly Build).

You're probably thinking, "Hey, why don't we have all the devs work on one feature at a time, that way each feature will be complete faster?".

Unfortunately that's not how software development works. Packing more developers into a small area often just leads to longer and longer delays due to communication and education overhead (Brooks' law) and also just leads us to keep stepping on each other's toes. A recommended read is The Mythical Man-Month.

I'm terrible at some things (I could wing anything GPU-related but I'm not an expert for example) so I'm not a good fit everywhere anyway, and tbh I'm here for fun and not for work.

You have to make an edit to the source code, i won't bother giving it out as it is unstable and pointlessas only menu boots.Crashes and stuff caused by incomplete CROs likely.

Anyone who hates on custom builds:
  1. That's how builds are made they fork master then PR commits, please don't hate on someone testing it out before it gets added in master
  2. Don't complain how it isn't in master, Geometry shaders is highly experimental, JayRoxFox may PR it soon
  3. HD build is a PR but has many bugs, breaks virtual console games, ect.
  4. Audio also quite unstable ,sounding alot better now
  5. Some devs are better than others like @MerryMage said,
  6. CROs are unstable, will be rewritten in the future hence why smash bros won't work properly and likely causes the random crashes as CROs get executed at points in time.
  7. The progress for Citra is amazing so far but I really wouldn't want these custom builds added until it has great comparability and stable. If not, it'll end up causing tons of regression and break tons of games.

How did you make Smash 4 boot? Use the older version of CRO or something(I'm just asking. I'm not trying to play the game with Corrin and Bayonetta since I have a 2DS and a number of Mii Costumes)?

Thank for sharing but what do you means by "suppose to fix broken particle effects" ? Can you use pokemon 6 gen (ORAS/X/Y) as an example?
fixes regression issues and fixes
Animal crossing particles
Mario Kart 7 particles
New Super Mario Bros 2 particles
Pokemon Transition screen (white flash in battle)
