Warning: Useless Comment | Opinionated
Don't use gateway.
Edit: More Useful Information
My recommendation would be setting up and emunand and following Plailect's guide(link) on setting up A9LH(Arm9LoaderHacks) to boot into a CFW(Custom FirmWare) like AuReiNand or CakesFW
He did put a warning that his comment is opinionated, his opinion is that you didn't need to buy a GW when you could get free CFWI bought a gateway flashcart why would'nt I use it?
But I have already bought GW what to do now?He did put a warning that his comment is opinionated, his opinion is that you didn't need to buy a GW when you could get free CFW
Return it and get oot&powersaves lolBut I have already bought GW what to do now?
If he is having trouble setting up a GW he will have even more trouble in setiing up CFWReturn it and get oot&powersaves lol
About the question, I still suggest to install Menuhax and use the Gateway 3dsx until they release a9lh support.
Why? You can still use Gateway with A9LH using a 9.2 Emunand + firmware90.binAbout the question, I still suggest to install Menuhax and use the Gateway 3dsx until they release a9lh support.
Yeah that's actually what I'm doing but it takes as long to boot into GW CFW for the moment so it's not that useful. Why? You can still use Gateway with A9LH using a 9.2 Emunand + firmware90.bin
I doubt Plailect will update his guide for GW. There's no reason to do so.Yeah that's actually what I'm doing but it takes as long to boot into GW CFW for the moment so it's not that useful.
And maybe Plailect will update his guide for GW when it comes out that's why I think it's better to wait if you're a beginner in the 3DS hacking scene.
It's not that I'm anti-flashcart, I just hate the GW team. They tend to take open source code, add obfuscation and bricking features, then release it as "innovation." Even so, they still take long as balls to get features out (a9lh support has been integrated into CFW for almost 2 months now)Hey OP, don't mind all the anti-flashcard guys. A lot of people on this forum have a problem with spending money apparently. 90% of them probably don't have a job. I've been a gateway user since day-one back in August 2013 and i am happy with my purchase
You never need to unscrew the back plate, use an FTP program like Brony, or use FBI+SocketPunch, or NASA+Houston.SkyChotik, why would you tell him not to use Gateway without using any argument ?
Personally I bought one and I'm very happy cause I don't have to unscrew my back plate and wait 15min to install every time I wanna play a new game.

Or just remove the screws on the backplate. You never need to unscrew the back plate, use an FTP program like Brony, or use FBI+SocketPunch, or NASA+Houston.
So it transfers 2gb files at 500kbps ? No thanks I'd rather insert my microSD and copy at 20mbps speed. You never need to unscrew the back plate, use an FTP program like Brony, or use FBI+SocketPunch, or NASA+Houston.

Edit: There's also no reason to buy a gateway nowadays when there's free and open source CFW that can do everything gateway can (minus .3ds support). Back when gateway was the only solution, there was no problem with buying one, but nowadays there's almost no justification.
