Hey guys, Just a little speculation about the games that I believe you should know about the previous game remakes.

We will NOT see a remake of Yellow, Crystal, Emerald or possibly Platinum(If they remake Pearl or Diamond at some point.) and the reason is because these games were made after/post production of the 2 games that were intentionally or originally made.

These 4 games(Yellow, Crystal, Emerald, and Platinum) were made to be "Updated" versions of their 2 siblings making these games a secondary title to the story. These games just made a focus on the 3rd legendary offered in the game.

Now it seems they are only making games with 2 main legendary Pokemon(Pokemon Sun and moon) and may not include a third possibly because of the multi-type of the newer Pokemon(The Cancellation of Pokemon Z). With the multi-type Pokemon, it adds benefits and disadvantages in one. The reason why I bring up multi-types eliminating a 3rd legendary is because out of the old(1st,2nd,3rd generations) they were (Mostly)single-type and one legendary overpowered the other and created an "In-balance" to the 2 games and so they made the 3rd titles. An example would be Kyogre and Groudon;
Kyogre = Water Type
Groudon = Ground Type

Kyogre overpowers Groudon simply because Kyogre is a water type and is super effective against Ground/Fire types. So, to create a balance, they made Emerald featuring Rayquaza who is a Dragon/flying type.

If you look at the Nintendo's Wiki and you go to Pokemon Platinum, you will notice on how it says that Platinum is an Enhanced Version of its siblings and is in the same vein(Listing) as Pokemon Yellow, Crystal, and Emerald.

That is why we will never see a remake of Yellow, Crystal, or Emerald.(And possibly Platinum).

Lazy Links:
Red & Blue (Green, Yellow)
Gold & Silver (Crystal)
Ruby & Sapphire (Emerald)
Diamond & Pearl (Platinum)

Not exactly on topic, but since we're discussing Pokemon.

I hope they release Pokemon Stadium on the Wii-U and have 3DS Pokemon Red/Blue/Yellow connectivity, and sometime in the future do the same with Gold/Silver/Crystal, and Pokemon Stadium 2.

I think the whole reason they never released Pokemon Stadium 1 and 2 on Wii was because they didn't have a way of connecting Pokemon R/B/Y/G/S/C.

What? Remakes have already been made and their names are FireRed/LeafGreen(Yellow/Red/Blue/Green/1st Gen), HeartGold/SoulSilver(Silver/Gold/Crystal/2nd Gen), Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire(Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald). They WILL make a remake of the 4th Gen(aka 7th or 8th Gen). This is their strategy and they WILL continue it.

Also, what multi-type? o.o; Most legendaries are multi-type(dual types).

Yeah the remakes include stuff from Crystal and Emerald but Yellow version is the only one that was unique since it was based on the anime.
I hope Yellow gets a remake knowing its the most popular of gen 1.

I wanna know why Black and White never got a Grey, and why X and Y never got Z... NOW would be the perfect time to drop Z, to keep us busy until Sun and Moon drop. And after Sun and Moon, the third title for gen 7 should be Eclipse. It just makes sense, since the sun and moon eclipse one-another.

Black and White didn't get a Grey, but the generation(5th) did get a 3rd game (B2/W2). They are following a new strategy it seems. X/Y might be connected with Sun and Moon. Only time will tell.

That might be the case. Don't forget there are people that buy both versions(eg White and Black) so they would buy Black2 & White2.

And they also receive massive sales from the remakes available with each new generation. Thats a lot of $$$$$$$$$. The diamond and pearl remake could even be saved for the nx along with BW if they feel like it

Yeah, Diamond & Pearl will get remakes on the NX. Each handheld gets 1 remake from what it seems. (GBA=FR/LG, DS=HG/SS, 3DS=ΩR/αS)

Edit: Also, every handheld gets 2 Gens of Pokemon with the exception of GBA. (GB/GBC=1st & 2nd, DS=4th & 5th, 3DS=6th & 7th)

At this point there's really no reason to have a third version - if you wanted to add content to the game or fix bugs/exploits you can just make DLC, so the "definitive version" thing is getting harder and harder to justify.

There has never been any point to remaking the Sister games.

More profitable to release two games as compared to one.

Also, they could simply incorporate part of the story into the dual remake.

Like how Crystal story got brought into HGSS.

Or they could use the old story, and find a horrible way to incorporate the third legendary:
ORAS with the delta episode

(I would have preferred an emerald remake.
The lack of most of Emerald elements annoyed me)

Given that RBGY is a rehash of itself, there was nothing serious they could add into FRLG.
Sevii islands was just an added bonus post-game, as well as allowing a few Johto Pokemon to be encountered.

Also, there isn't a serious need to re-remake RGBY, as their VC would allow kanto Pokemon to be transferred to Pokemon SM
<not to mention almost all Pokemon can be caught in Gen 6 alone>

Honestly, I have never been a fan of the third versions, since they always come out so much later than the first 2, I've already played the gen to death by then.
I much prefer what they did with B2/W2 since they were actual new games albeit reusing many of the assets. They changed them enough to make me want to play them.
