ROM Hack Pokemon AS Corrupt, need to transfer save to new cart?

My best friend's AS cart can't be read by her 3ds. She bought a new one, and THAT one reads.

Here comes the hard part! She has a Powersaves Backup of the old cart, and she wants to get the save from the old AS to the new one. Is there a way to do this? To Trick the PS into thinking it's the same cart?

cant it do that anyway since cards are the same? it should just transfer over fine

It should work right out of the box. Only digital games have a secure value.

See, it recognizes it as a different cart entirely, like with the old AS it springs up fine, the new one? blank.

If that's the case, maybe it needs to have a working save first? That's how it is in SaveDataFiler - a game with a blank save will show up as corrupt until the game makes a new save.

We did that, we even overwrote the onew AS save with the new one's file name, nothing

If you have another 3DS handy, does it read the old cart fine? If so, you're probably better off using SVDT, SaveDataFiler, or JK's CIA save manager to dump the raw/decrypted save from it, and then using the same program to import it on the new cart. Then you don't need to fiddle with Powersaves or have to worry about encryption stuff.

Just note that SaveDataFiler and JK's manager require CFW to operate, while SVDT does not, so if you're on firmware 9.3 or higher, look into getting homebrew setup if you haven't already.

Then create a save game on the new cartridge and replace it with the new main file that you created with pkhex. (Replace it using svdt).
