I had installed this just now, and it actually broke homebrew access (all types) for me. I'm still trying to figure out why.
I installed NVER and CVER. I am on 9.5.0.23-U, on a (downgraded) MH4U n3dsxl running rxtools 2.6.
*edit* despite losing access using this trick, after restoring my previous emunand, I forgot that there's an accessible homebrew version in the latest starter pack for homebrew from smealum, which works without using freemultipatcher and hans.

*facepalm* and THIS is why you do not need to (and should not) install CVer. Please download the 9.5 CVer and install it to fix shit.
To be fair I'm getting fairly confused by this thread. Would like to see a tutorial just for people who did their fresh downgrades to 9.2/9.5.
Downgraded or not the method for accessing eshop is the same.
The problem is some little troll somewhere started telling people that he installed CVer as well as everything else that he was told to install and it worked for him so now every time someone tries to make a thread with a tutorial CVer gets thrown into the mix when it does not need to be, and can apparently cause problems. (though I suspect I know why the two people in question were no longer able to access homebrew)
This didn't work for me.
Anyway, as I stated, I'm on a downgraded machine, and I'm using the eshop access provided by the starter pack.
Try using ninjhax, but delete the existing payload and generate a new QRCode. make sure to put in your fw version as it appears in your settings (if you were on 9.5 and installed the latest NVer you should use 9.5.0-28X, not 9.5.0-23X)

Updating NVer might break menuhax because the payload needs to be updated, same for ninjahax (it DID break ninjhax for me till i created a new payload). Browserhax being broken might be related to you updated CVer or possibly even the downgrade (though if it worked before updating CVer or NVer, then idk). Not sure why updated either would make the cia verison of HBL stop working.

Yeah well all these replies are making it difficult to understand what ones I need. Do I need NVer, CVer, what?
So I grab NVer via 3DSNUS, backup my EmuNAND (I assume that program will work because it's just a partition on an SD card right, shouldn't matter if it's not GW?), install the NVer CIA, then free multi patcher? Because the thread for that says that doesn't work anymore. Or do I just skip that and use HANS? And is 9.5 required for this in it's entirety or will 9.2 emuNAND work? The OP is a bit of a cluster.

The OP is pretty clear.
If you are using Gateway do the following:
Grab updated NVer and Tiger via 3DNUS
Install them
Run FreeMultiPatcher
Launch eShop
???
Profit
The above will ONLY work if you are using Gateway's Red Card and GW Mode.
If you use any other form or version of CFW, do the following:
Grab updated NVer from 3DNUS
Install it
Access HBL
Use HANS to load the eShop with the fw patch enabled.
???
Profit
If you use CFW, you should still have FreeMultiPatcher isntalled and you should still be running it after loading emunand to patch the update check during normal usage.

I checked 3DNUS and it won't let me select New3DS. Does that matter?

Emunand is emunand at this point, regardless of if you used a program like Emunand9 or GW to make it, and no it does not matter. You can't select it because you are downloading a specific title by TitleID.

That's new and I have NO idea what it is. Are you using HANS to load the eshop?
