So for some reason, I'm able to see the entries in a board for any deleted topics:

Of course clicking on the View button in the right-hand portion of the section for that deleted post tells me that the thread could not be found, but if we can't see the threads, why can we see these remnants still? From past experience, shouldn't only moderators be able to see these?

I think it's because the mods can remove (shitty) threads, and then humiliate the original poster by telling the world why it was removed :P

Same thing could be asked about deleted posts: why can we see that they were deleted? It's not like we can see what they said, so who cares? :P

Doesn't the "deleted" thread notice disappear after like... 24 hours? I'd think the notice is just a courtesy to thread creators to give them a chance to appeal before the action is permanent.
Well, my deleted thread from 5 months ago still hasen't gone, so...

for deleted posts, we use to give a reason or else users always wonder why it's deleted and what they did wrong and came angry in PM to ask why their posts got moderated.
seeing the deleted reason and that there are moderated posts (offtopic, etc.) is better than not seeing it.
Sometime, even something like post deleted because the user quoted another deleted post (illegal link, etc.) was a reason of PM to ask why it's deleted.
