Hello, everybody.I've read through this guide and still have some questions. I am sorry, if they are dumb

Does this flashcart supports pokemon hack roms?
I've heard, SKY3DS can only support up to 10 3ds games at one time/ Can I delete games in order to add new titles?
Is it save to go online ? I know, you need private header, or something like that
How quickly firmware is updated?
Which micro sd card are you using for it? Is it enough to have a 32 gb one?

Hi, maybe i missed here in this big thread.

I just got my Sky3ds (blue).

I wrote a bunch of .3ds files at one go..

One game i tested did not work it said: This game card dont work.. It Was Luigis Mansion 2.. maybe i got a bad rom..

The question is..

To replace that game do i need to re-do the whole write process or can i just delete that rom and put a new one?

Yes i did.

The game looks like it works it boot in the home menu with sound and all but when i try press start it says this game card dont work..

I duble check its EUR .3ds file as i have EUR New 3ds XL..

But i would guess i have a bad version of the rom..

If i get another rls how do a go about deleting the bad file and writing the new? Do i need to write all game all over again to fix this issue? Or is it possible to delete one game add another etc?

Yes just right click and delete it from disk writer, then you can write it again, but I remember there was a broken rom of that floating around. Might want to check for a different scene release for it. You can burn games from your other regions but you need to use region free with homebrew

Greetings! Long time lurker, short time registered user. I'm sorry, I didn't go through the whole 16 pages to see if this was answered, seeing as it's a lot of posts and I'm tired of searching on google for an answer (might be searching with the wrong terms or something... not sure).
So, a bit of backstory: I'm considering buying an used 3DS XL, and the dude is selling it with a R4i for DS games and a red button Sky3DS for 3DS games. My question lies with the Sky3DS card. I know that it used to have a 10 game limit that was lifted with the DiskWriter program (up to 20 or something, but I digress), but what I'm confusing myself about is, once we install said 20 games for example, will the Sky3DS count as full and thus no new games can be installed? I'm asking because I've read several times that 10 is the limit for the Sky3DS card and not the microSD card itself, and thus, from my understanding, once you hit the limit on the Sky3DS the card counts as used up, and inserting new microSD cards won't change a thing and no more games will be added to the Sky3DS. Is this correct or incorrect? If I didn't explain myself clearly enough I'll try my best to give a different explanation.

The problem isn't with the SD rather the card. The blue one has no limit and so you can burn games based on your SD size. But the red one has a hardware limit and so that's where the problem is. Yep no problem to delete all your games and write new ones (you dont have to format your sd)
Just backup your save, select the game that you dont want and delete it. Then write new ones (and restore its save if you have it)

I have a R4i too and im on 10.1 and it is still working

Nice. Still not sure if I want to buy an used 3DS XL or if I'm going to try finding one still under warranty or at least as new as it can be or if I wait until christmas to try and snatch one for cheaper. Anyway, what's the best shop to order flash carts from? Mainly Sky3DS and R4i 3DS, if possible from the UK or something. In case I go that way, I want to avoid overseas shipping seeing as it can take at least a month to arrive, and that is only if it's not stopped by our customs for a "random check" like they like to say.

You don't need the latest firmware to be using an R4. The reason he's probably selling it is because he updated it accidentally to the latest firmware. There's nothing with the r4 that forces you to use a specific firmware

Not really in it for the steam game but I'm always around to help. What's the problem, error and issue. If you are to use a private header, always make sure the header is 16 bytes hex, and it's from a game that can go online. You can't use the header of an offline game on an online game.

You can always choose at the end if you want it or not its optional

The header is from my original pokemon omega ruby.
The header has indeed 16 bytes (i can show you private if needed) the only thing that was different was that it didnt start with 00 00 00 88 but with 00 0C 00 88 but after the 16 bytes it had loads of FF FF FF so i assumed it was alright (i also have acces to X and Y Headers if neccesary).

I used no ban no sky to edit the latest template of sky 3ds and then i rewrote all games onto my SD card again (did the full button cycle too on my ds)

But whenever i try to get online on for example pokemon Y or Alpha sapphire or X i get the error that this cartridge cannot go online.

I am not banned either, cus when i put in my original pokemon game i can go online without any issues!

Actually you can use a header from an offline game.. (not all games are compatible but you can find some)
All you have to do is change the chip id in template. Use the program gateway rom patcher to find out the correct value and change it in template. (You will need your header in .bin format)

Also I don't mind about your private header, I won't use it anyways if that's what you're worried about, but if you can send a screenshot of the opened Hex editor I can probably look into it also to patch your .bin header kindly send a screenshot of that to make sure if it's done right.

Yes that's the point of a private header since only one of it can be used at a time when online. So to be safe don't use the original and your sky copy online at the same time. Local area should be fine.
