So you reckon if we install and test several times it may work?
I have no idea to be honest with you. All I know is that I tried multiple payloads with multiple installers and eventually I re tried the manual inject with a 10.1 payload as described in this thread and now it loads every time, 100%. Yet I tried that exact same method countless tries ago and all I got was a crash screen and force reset. :P

Okay I'll give it a go if I get hold of another ds to borrow again

Just wipe the saves and reinstall it again yeah?

He just fixed how the payloads are downloaded/determined.

We need something new save sided most likely due to payload size change there something else needs to be done with how the save is generated... (I'm not a coder but I think thats where things break)

Code:
*hax 2.5 update

@meladroit meladroit released this 11 hours ago

Changes:
•Payload determination is now server-side, following sploit_installer's changes.
•Consequently, local payload functionality is gone for now.

Install by unzipping to sd:/3ds/oot3dhax_installer/.

Yeah, but smea also uploaded slightly updated payloads, so it was probably worth trying still :p

So I can't use it with the 3ds? To get to save manager?

No, because those carts can only ever have access to DSi mode.

I tried the updated OoTHax installer, again no dice on 10.2.0-28E. To be honest this update did the same thing as the one we saw the other day, just grabs the payload from the 2.5 source. Ah well. It was nice to hope something else had changed :P

I think it's a waiting game for us 10.2 users

Finally, hax 2.5 is released, but when I try to trigger this exploit again, my game just crashes with glitched screens and kicks me out to Home Menu. What am I doing wrong??!!?!? :hateit:

Nothing it would seem, does the same for me too. It looks like we need to wait for the save file to be update from what I have gathered due to a change in the payload size I think.

Is there a way to install OoTHax on 9.4.0-21 to use the cartridge on 10.0.0-27?
If this could be done, could you tell me the steps I have to follow?
Thanks.

Follow the normal steps but use the payload for the one you want it to work on... Then install it to the cartridge and then put the game in the other ds and load the game then click the save you applied the hack to

Try using this the payloads are for 2.1 not 2.5 so you'll just need to change the payload still

For a European 3DS, Select either N3DS_E_20480_9221.bin OR POST5_E_20480_9221.bin, depending on your 3DS version. New 3DS takes the N3DS file, the older 3DS takes POST5.

For an American 3DS, Select either N3DS_U_21504_usa_9221.bin OR POST5_U_21504_usa_9221.bin, depending on your 3DS version. New 3DS takes the N3DS file, the older 3DS takes POST5. American firmware versions are a step ahead of us, in terms of filenames, hence the discrepancy.

For a Japanese 3DS, Select either N3DS_J_20480_9221.bin OR POST5_J_20480_9221.bin, depending on your 3DS version. New 3DS takes the N3DS file, the older 3DS takes POST5.

  • Once you have the file you need, rename it to payload.bin, and put it inside the oot3dhax_installer folder. There should be a couple of save0x.bin.region files there.
  • Place the oot3dhax_installer folder into the 3ds folder on your 3DS' SD card.
  • Get to the Homebrew Launcher with your method of choice
  • Launch OoTHax_Installer
  • Select version 10.1 (As the payload for 10.1 works on 10.2, but only for hax version 2.1)
  • Viola. The cartridge now has 10.2 OoTHax v2.1. Get your friend to put the starter kit from https://smealum.github.io/3ds/ onto his SD card, and it's good to go.
