Are V-Sync and Audio Sync really necessary regarding SNES emulation? Does it make a big change? Or would it be better to turn both off to increase performance on CatSFC Plus?
Cause I just can't deal with regular CatSFC's sound, but the performance in Plus version is getting pretty great in many games, so I'm curious if I can easily make it even better with disabling those options or if it's gonna make the games look and sound worse.

Thanks!

Im running the latest version of pcsx (oct 16) on both n3ds with 3dsx and o3ds with cia. Im trying to run SotN. I tried the audio trick that Teampleb suggested and then disabled the audio entirely. Im getting about 14 fps on n3ds and 15 on o3ds, which is far from 60. Is SotN just that intensive, or am i doing something wrong?

Do not turn off vsync.
Teampleb said hes getting solid 60 fps with 3dsx though. Either im missing some setting or SotN is a really intensive ps1 game which would surprise me since its a 2d sidescroller.
You'll note I said that about gpSP.

I've been away for some time, and the Builds accumulate with each day that passes by.

Can you guys give me the best cores for each console up to the 32-bit era? (Before PSX)
Specifically for a N3DS. :)

Always leave vsync on. On the 3DS anyway.
Nope, bad advice. If a game is running under 60FPS, forcing vsync will only slow it down further as it waits for the next vblank. Right, aliaspider?
also disable vsync, since it runs under 60fps and vsync will only hurt it more.
If a game is running slow and you want to speed it up, disabling vsync is an entirely valid approach. I'm not saying it'll look nice, but neither does slow, juddery gameplay, so pick your poison.

Well when vsync is off the picture trends to break up and it's even more unplayable.

Hi. Whats the necessary configuration to run Marvel vs Capcom?
I received a error of 4098 frames needed...

Thanks.

That's correct: when vsync is off, vsync is off.
@ShadowOne333: One's with more than one core per system?
SNES = Catsfc
I'd say CatSFC Plus, personally. The performance is somewhat worse (though most games shouldn't be heavily impacted) but the sound quality is exponentially better. The downside is save states are broken. Overall, I think a combination of blargSNES and CatSFC Plus give the best of both worlds, but CatSFC might be worth having around for the occasional game which doesn't run well enough on Plus or blargSNES.

No particular setup, that warning is unrelated to the game functioning. Most likely just a ROM problem.
