I'm trying to work on a game translation, and I've been using xenia to test out changes. I figured it'd be better if I actually tested stuff on console instead, so I invested in an x360key since soldering scares me and I properly installed it. The problem is that it won't run the .iso that I've compiled with exiso, which runs fine on xenia, and it gives the error "This disc is unreadable." While it will recognize the unmodded game rip just fine, I can't run it as my console is NTSC-U/C and the game is region-locked to Japan only.

Is there some certain way that I should be compiling the iso? Is it that xk3y can't run modded games (I don't think this is the case considering all the GTA mod videos online)?

Mod menus etc aren't signed.
Things that aren't signed can be modified without any problem.
Unfortunately, most things are signed.

Cheating online with mod menus should earn your friend a ban.
Modding/cheating/save editing should not be taken online.

Still, cheating doesn't belong online.
It ruins the game for others and eventually, for yourself as well, as there's no challenge left.

MS indeed is a bit lax with online cheaters, but those who get banned deserve to be banned.
Profile and console bans usually are given out.

Using mod menus online without rgh/jtag is like walking into battle without a bullet proof vest.
What is your friend gonna do when they ban him/her??
At least with rgh conole you can replace the key vault file. Microsoft uses the report icon from users to place the bans on gtav.
All it takes is one user since they verify all reports. So, I guess as long as your friend doesn't use mods that make others mad he has nothing to worry about. Unless someone gets mad at him.
I personally don't care one way or the other about online cheats. All I have to say is when I cheated on gtav I had everything you could get (including hotknife) and after playing for about an hour after modding myself I was very bored. So much so I lost interest in the game.

I got my hands on an RGH Xbox, and running the original iso through xexmenu works perfectly fine, but changing even one file in the game causes it to instantly crash when it reaches where it's loaded. Is there something I'm supposed to do that I'm just missing? Help?

Also for a non-RGH/non-JTAG console, it might work if you use the hotswap method to install it to the xbox 360 hdd (NOT your usb hdd, but the stock drive) because from what I understand, this "tricks" the console into signing the modded game to that console during the install. Of course @DinohScene is a lot more knowledgeable about that kind of stuff than me. You risk damaging your original game disc doing the hot swap method though, it also puts extra wear and tear on the disc drive. Best wait for Dinoh to chime in about this before attempting it. If its not going to work, then why take the risk? :P
