Maybe not that branch necessarily, but a new port nonetheless since WiiSX is based off an old branch. After seeing RetroArch 3DS and the PS1 core run as well as it does, surely, couldn't the Wii fare as well, if not better with a lot of optimizations? Or would it be feasible to port it over for the Wii U Cafe OS once the IOSU exploit is released? I recall a thread on the Libretro forums of a member trying out a compiled core for RetroArch Wii, and ran very slowly but it ran nonetheless. It was either this or MednafenPSX, I need to somehow get people interested, or something, because with either of these cores, Final Fantasy games are finally playable without having to use interpreter cores, which is a big plus.
MednafenPSX
3DS PCSX-ReARMed
I know that 3DS is ARM, Wii/Wii U are PPC, I don't know it ARM is easier to port to, but the GBA was recently shown as running perfectly for almost every game, surely, someone can take a crack at the PS1
Edit: Not PCSX-ReArmed, but MedafenPSX perhaps?
*Facepalm* I'm tired -_-
