If you have anything extra like themes can you just overwrite the original folder with the new one without erasing it or would that cause issues?

Okay, so I downgrade the mset to 6.x (rxTools 3 deletes the msetdg.bin)
I go to sysNand. I use SpiderExploit on rxinstaller.bin. Screen glitches, I push Home and a error is shown telling stuff about an error, telling me to save my current apps and restart the system.

I reboot, and I go to settings. It still shows 9.2.0-20E.
I go to DS profile and shows this:

What I am doing wrong?

Are you sure system settings was downgraded? (no NNID settings on the top of the main settings screen and brightness control on top left of Other Settings subsection)

Run through the process again
Warning: Spoilers inside!
  1. In the rxtools download, open msetdg.bat
  2. Select MSET -> your region -> 6.X if you have a 2DS, 4.X if you have a 3DS
  3. When the download completes, there will be a new folder named after your region. There should be a msetdg.bin inside, put it on your SD card root.
  4. If you don't have a DS flashcard: grab the rxinstaller.bin for rxTools from the "mset" folder and put it on your sd card root.
    • If you do have a DS flashcard, you only need the rxinstaller.nds on your DS flashcard's sd card. Then you would put the flashcard in your 3ds, launch it, then run the rxinstaller.nds file and choose "rxtools 4.X DG" or "rxtools 6.X DG", depending on what you picked in step 2. Then skip to step 8.
    • Note: the "DG" beside the system version number means "downgraded".
  5. Launch rxTools through the browser and hold R to open the menu. Go to Advanced Options, then Downgrade MSET. Turn off your 3DS afterwards.
  6. If you used a DS flashcard in step 4, then skip this step! Open the 3DS browser, and enter this URL: http://dukesrg.github.io/?rxinstaller.bin
  7. Wait for a bit (it should crash and send you back to the home menu). If it doesn't crash after a minute, press HOME and it should crash.
    • If the next step (8) doesn't work, try clearing your cache and history before scanning the QR code or entering the above link.
  8. Now you can launch rxtools by going to System Settings-> Other Settings-> Profile-> Nintendo DS Profile
I had the same problem before, do not run any DS mode software unless you want to do this every time.
Caryying a DS flashcart with rxinstaller.nds is highly recommended.

OK i'm new to this! I wanna know is it possible to install Rxtools on n3ds 9.0 with themehax or browser hax?

N3DS? There has never been any hacks for Skater, only spider (the O3DS browser)

@VerseHell
Does pressing L, then going to Sysnand (X mode) crash for you?
Also, if you set "Autoboot to Sysnand" in the rxTools menu settings, it will crash everytime you reboot?

Thanks for your input

If you're using Steveice10's themehax then you need to hold L to boot into the sysnand. It works fine with the original themehax, but you need to hold L on start to boot on rxtools.

How does this even work? I would think that using the themehax method, booting into sysnand would put the system into a loop, if not simply crash it, because it would be loading the same theme every time. No? What happens when you go into a game, then return to the home menu (it loads up the theme again, right?)?

Why does everyone want to auto boot cfw, don't you still want to use homebrew. Just stick the updated cfw 3dsx in a folder with smdh into your 3ds folder with the rest of your homebrew then you can still boot the cfw from the homebrew launcher plus your other stuff too.

There are cia files for pretty much every homebrew so there's not much of a need to use the HB channel if you can use CFW

it has if you build your own. The commit with Cakebruh supposedly fixes that issue.

Using the autoboot mod version is the best way (I tried both).
Every time, it will boot into rxTools and you don't have to press on L (it saves wear and tear on the tiny button  )

Now if for some reason you want to go into DevMode, you power it up and wait for the red screen to appear and then press L.
This will load the rxTools menu. You then go into Advanced Settings, select DevMode and press A.
If you don't press anything else, the console will crash. You need to press L (right after A) until it loads the Sysnand in DevMode.

Same thing applies going to Sysnand RXmode (by pressing X). You need to press L (right after X) until it loads the Sysnand in RXmode.

I'm assuming you have the latest nightly build (and of course I'm talking about O3DS here)

I started reading the browserhax thread, and FWIW, i don't think it's exploiting anything specifically in the browser. It has something to do with a corrupt .mp4 file...

it can be used with skater. so it's exploiting the browser anyway, no?
