Hacking update from 4.2 to 9.0?

i spent like 2 hours on this, and i cant seem to figure out how to create the .db files on the 3ds folder, it doesn't work with .txt when it tried it. so does anyone know how to make the .db files like he did.

you have to edit the file type, in the windows start search bar, type"show or hide file extensions" and make sure the box is checked. Now rename the file and you'll see ".txt" and chance that to .db

thanks for the database files and the tutorial, but all this did was install and fbi lancher thing, and it did not change my 3ds firmware

Okay, now that you have the FBI on your sysnand, just boot pasta CFW and install sysupdater v03 and then update to 9.x.

Donnt update your sysnand, create your emunand with the gateway launcher.dat then update it with rxtools. Everything is on the tutorial I posted.

I've personally tested the sysnand updating and it works, I have also personally tried the emeunand and that bricked my 3ds. Luckily I have a hard mod since I'm always flashing to my sysnand.

You should really read through a few guides before attempting anything because once you mess up, without a nand mod and backup it's impossible to fix. Even something as simple as accidentally updating to a higher firmware than 9.2 can screw your plans for piracy/homebrew on the 3DS(Except for Sky3DS but who wants one of those?).

can you back up your system nand if your on 9.8 system nand
