Just use the pasta CFW to install sysupdater V0.3! Which can be done with cubic ninja FBI... Then, use 3dsnus to get 9.x and setup the cia files to the sd card on the 3ds. This will be placed in the updates folder... Then bootup pasta CFW and since it boots into sysnand, you can launch sysupdater and press "A" to update. Once it reboots it will be on a legit 9.x or any other firmware you'd like.

Well, Download 3dsnus and then download the desired firmware (9.0.0-20) Then type in the region. Then download the Pasta CFW which works on both the New 3DS and the OLD 3DS. Also grab sysupdater I recommend v0.3 DO NOT GET 0.4B! You will brick your 3ds. Then simply gather the cia files from the firmware you want to upgrade to. (9.0.0-20) and place them all in a folder named "updates" and that folder will be placed on the root of your 3ds's SD card. Then add all of the stuff needed to launch the Pasta CFW such as the dat file, ect... Then just grab the Cubic ninja FBI to install the sysupdater. Finally boot and install sysupdater via FBI and then once done, press start and you'll return to the homebrew for ninhax. Lastly boot into Pasta CFW and start up sysupdater v0.3. Then just press "A" and it'll install everything in the "updates" folder you placed all the CIA files in. Once that finishes, sysupdater will reboot the 3DS and you'll be updated sir. For a lot more support check this thread out. I used it to do this updating and found it after I typed all of this haha. The thread is made for upgrading the sysnand.

Im not going to tell you how to update but create a 9.8 emunand where you can play cia and legit 3ds copies
Create a emunand using gateway laucher with the option format emunand if you have a Cubic ninja copy install Devmenu using FBI and PastaCfw or install it with the internet network if you don´t have cubic ninja then open Rxtools via HB Launcher or Web Browser Exploid and launch Rxmode check if you are on emunand if you are on it update it via System Settings and then you are on 9.8 emunand every time you turn on your 3ds you need to launch rxmode with HBL or Web Browser do not buy gateway is not needed at all sorry if my english is wrong or if didn´t explained right search for Rxtools here on Gbatemp and ask them for this

im not the one that taught you that but i think that work´s without that but you need internet connection and a computer with internet as well and you can´t play >6.X games

EDIT:You need DS Flashcard and SD Reader but you don´t need internet connection on your 3ds

I don't remember which one, but I think with rxtools you can use the web exploit on 4.x-9.2 without a flashcart, gw, or anything.

i spent like 2 hours on this, and i cant seem to figure out how to create the .db files on the 3ds folder, it doesn't work with .txt when it tried it. so does anyone know how to make the .db files like he did.
