Hacking N3DS XL Firmware by version number

Hi guys,

I have another question. I came across one new 3ds xl for limited edition zelda.

However the serial number that the owner sent me starts with this:

SUH1044

Im a bit confused with this one?! He said its brand new and still sealed. Whats the chance with this firmware?

I've never heard of the SHU region code, has anyone else? Might be some obscure version.....

Can't find anything on a new 3ds xl with SUH though. I'd say keep looking, I found a mm le edition on ebay with compatible firmware by constantly pming people. You'll eventually get lucky. Wouldn't take a risk on it since nobody has confirmed it.

Ill keep an eye out for monster hunter ones. I heard that all the usa ME editions were okay and risk free almost. Is this the same for uk pal copies to or usa only?

As far as I know MH4U N3DSs from any region are safe.

I came across another 3ds that has serial QEH1029.

However i see on the list it is 9.4 but that is for blue version, this one is a black one and sealed. Is its fate most likely to be the same as the blue one?

One other thing i realised, wasn't the Zelda Special Edition 3DS's released in February? Weren't they a limited run? So any sealed units that are available to buy now in UK are from the first release batch in feb? or am i wrong and they were released later or had a ongoing release?

There was a new batch released they have 9.4 on them

Ive just come up with another one which is QEH1026. Unfortunately, there is no report of this serial number on the first page

again it comes down to how much of a risk your willing to take. QEH1025 blue is listed as a 9.0 but QEH1027 black is listed as 9.4. That's the real downside to having to buy online.

are all on 9.4 so one can only assume that QEH1026 (Black) is also on 9.4, check walmarts and targets pretty much any large chain stores where you can ask for a specific model. If they want to know why make up a bs story about the screens being different and you want too by a specific model.

Why is it that for EU, the Blacks only go up to QEH1016 and its only the Blues after that on 9.0 ? Weird pattern? Didn't the Blues come out at the same time?

1. QEH1018 = MME (£220 with official charger - sealed).

Thats rather expensive, but thinking it may still be worth it?

2. QEH1016 = Sealed Black one (Bidding, currently high bidder at £120 with 1 day left).

Obviously the second one seems like my best bet, its a lower serial number and also much cheaper if it stays within reasonable range

Both of these look good to my eyes though, what about you guys, should i go for either of them?

well the MME is the limited edition so if your interested in that then it makes sense, however if that doesn't matter then just try and get the second one. Both should be fine though.

As for the best way to stop the upgrade nag, if you have gateway then you can do the mset downgrade to downgrade your system settings to 4.5. At that point you can just put a bunch of randomness into the 3 wifi slots to stop it from being able to connect. This only works if you have emunand though (if you want to go online you would need to via emunand at that point)

For the new 3ds and gateway you still need a real copy of your own regions ocarina of time or cubic ninja to do the exploit initially.I'd suggest cubic ninja because ocarina of time requires an old exploitable 3ds to get the gateway save on the cart.

If you need to buy a game I'd just buy a sky3ds and use that, in theory should be able to hold any exploit game ever needed as it's not been blocked.

That would not work, sky3ds does not allow for e-shop games
