ROM Hack So how the hell does this Spider/AR/QR cheat code thing work? Step by Step for GW user. *funny vid*

So I like the fact that you can take a picture of some abstract piece of art and boom it injects cheats into your games. Was this originally made for pokemon? As a PSP and VITA hacker I'm only proficient in GW for my 3DS. I was wondering if some awesome guys could explain to me step by step the processes for inputting cheats in your games through the QR prints? I'm sure I'm not the only one here that's a bit confused. I need to input cheats for BD and FEA and the awesome games that everybody here plays. All I got while looking for a tutorial was this video of some guy which didn't make any sense. Can you guys tell me and the others exactly how you do this please?

Basically you write a small program to change values in game's RAM, then use availble tools to build it, then go to a certain webpage to trigger it.

I couldn't get any of them to work. I play a game using gateway, pressed home went to camera took pic, went back to game and nothing happened. Was told it don't work on 9.7 requires 9.5 browser. Was also told I can downgrade the browser, I tried to with the .CIA but the .CIA fails to install, so I gave up.

Dont use Devmenu. Try BigBlueMenu and it should install just fine.

I'm pretty sure it doesn't work if you're using a Gateway or Emunand, but I could be wrong about that...

Ok, I decided to help you.
So, open browser, clear your cache, cookies and history.(you only need to do this once.)
Start your game, press home button and you will return to home menu. Then press L+R to open camera. Tap the QR code button, scan the QR code of the cheat you want to use and let it open web browser.
Wait for about 10 seconds and the browser will crash. Return to your game and the cheat will be active.

I dont see how you could be confused by this.

I use big blue. So can someone confirm it works in gateway emunand 9.7 with the backups? Does it require a browser downgrade to the 9.5 ?

Are you sure, you have the right cia?

You could try uninstalling the old browser first, but if you do that and the cia wont install, you will lose web browser.

I'm guessing that's probably gonna be 'no' but it never hurts to ask a question or two because you never know.

Just to add: Spider is the O3DS browser and (since I last checked) it won't work on the N3DS.

You can if you are on 9.2 or lower. That will let you downgrade to 4.5 and run CFW.

OMG Thank you for the help! However after I scanned my QR code it said running exploit at the bottom of the page but nothing happened. DO I need to install anything on my SD or micro card?
