ROM Hack [Q] Can I import user 1 save from MH4U into user2?

hello fellow users,

I have a MH4U save in user 1. Is it possible to download the save of someone and put in into user 2, tho it's named user 1? I have access to GW.

Do I have to name it user 2 then? Btw: Can you tell me how to import the user file into the game? savedatafiler doesn't seem to recognize the file. Would be nice, if you could tell me (and how to place it in user 2 escpecially).

Huh yeah, just extract your current save with SDF, put your downloaded character as user2 in the created folder on your SD card and import it back with SDF. Works just fine for me.

I guess I need the game in a .cia Format? My ROM is currently in .3dz - that's why savedatafiler can't help me right now, I guess. My actual micro SD in my N3DS is just 4gb. I have a 16Gb one, but I will have transfer all the GW stuff, or do I just have to copy alle the stuff from the root folder and it's working like a charm? (thx for the help for now)

I had a look, but it's not 100% clear to me (not because it's in english). All I have is a file that's called user 1 (it's not a .sav file) SDF doesn't seem to like this file in combination with .3dz or .3ds files. a quote from another forum, where I got the save file from:

It's a pretty big pain in the ass to use if you're using .3ds or .3dz, and impossible to even go online if you're using .3dz. It'd be a lot easier to use if you were using .cia.

Best is to create your own SDF export first with user1/2/3 and to switch the needed files.

MH4U save files are even after export garbled(crypted) to prevent cheating.

If the import fails after switching, it was impossible to restore crypt.

I exported the files n stuff, but I don't have the user1/2/3 file on the sd card, to throw my user1 save in. This is all I got:

Where do I put in my user 1 file now? (sry for beeing kinda noobish)

What do you mean with create one? I exported it already. Do I need to install the game as .cia, to export the user1/2/3 files, to convert it to a .3dz save - Am I on the right track now? because I got kinda confused

You can have 3 Player > Yours is User1 as first... next would be User2 as 2nd...

Created a second character, Saved, exported - same result. I really do not know, what I do wrong. My Progress ->

Start DS
Exploit
Launch GW
Choose the game with the select menu
Started the game
Saved a new character
launched SDF
went to EXT
exported the save

got the same results. Your Guide says -> press R+A but I don't have this option, because I exported as EXT -> CTR is broken. I think ur guide says something of renaming the save, but what do I have to rename it to? It's called 0004000000126100.sav.

I read what 000400000FF40A00.sav is for. I thought this was especially for Super Mario Land lol. I got the user files now!! Just one last question: I replaced the user file now, which Option I need to load it into the rom now?
"Import this user save data" (A) or Import this user save data to CTR Card (L+A)? Thank you very much!

Did all this. MH4U said that the save was corrupted and formattet it (I have a backup of the .sav). You have any idea, what was wrong again?

Last chance to get it working:

1. Rename USER to desired USER number, example USER1 > USER2
2. Open http://my1993.com/wip/mh4genc.php
3. Browse to your USER file
4. Enter your desired Name / Otomo
5. Click submit and dl your new CRC fixed USER file
6. Import this and press thumbs
