Today we present Gateway ULTRA 3.0.3 which fixes region detection for the Taiwan region.
Previously the TWN region was erroneously detected as CHN (iQue), and it was accepting the CHN dgpack while it should only accept the TWN dgpack.
As we mentioned before we want to caution users using the downgrade feature: it is a dangerous operation as it will write to sysnand and if something goes wrong it may brick your 3DS.
We currently recommend that ONLY USERS WITH A NAND MOD try this, and report back any issues.
Only when there are no more issues reported then we will consider it safe.
And as always ENJOY!

I say go to hell with 3.03 zzz

Not that I'm bashing on you, but I like their commitment on fixing their issues.

Of course that I would like to see NN3DS support (I'm also on that train, though I also own a 3DS XL Zelda edition), but supporting currently bad releases is cool too :)

Cheers!

What is with all people complaining about n3ds, not like everyone have one and it is just only released in japan. All I want is cheat that they promised
i guess the people complaining do own one....and its released in JPN/AUS.....not to mention people have imported them....by that logic we should also say "who cares about HK consoles being bricked as not everyone has one"

I got excited, and then I realized it's just 3.0.1-2. Not 3.0.3. Great for the people in those regions though. Glad to see other countries getting some Gateway/Homebrew/CFW love. The more open the community the better.

No time-frame was ever promised. Wait for a proper release. I could easily bitch that if it were not for all you guys with n3ds and 2ds GW team would probably have new features out by now. But no, they are stuck trying to figure out how to get stability on a crippled crappy hardware revision and a not fully understood new version to cater to you guys. Instead I applaud GW for testing and honing its product and not unleashing more problems and bitching to the scene..
Actually I'm learning a lot from GW on how to stall customers. One day i'll probably have to work with customers/clients/bosses, and I can just use GW's tricks to stall them, and just play sky3ds all day on my New3DS

You should praise them for having the fortitude to withstand the complaints and the superior customer service practices that keeps them from releasing something that bricks your system to cash in. I stayed at 5.0 on my 3ds over a year.didn't get to play new games(no Zelda). Just so I could possibly run GW one day. Yet I was not on here bitching constantly. You deserve to wait.

Man you guys are jerks. Just because you're not one of the people who are affected by the bricking bug, doesn't mean the update is useless. Try and think beyond your world for one freakin second.

One of the few forward thinking intellegent things I have read in this thread.

Is that what everyone is waiting for? N3DS and 2DS support? I've already resigned to the fact that gateway might never work on N3DS, and 2DS has always been out of the question due to it's limited feature set. I've just been waiting for proper save management. Seems much more important to ensure that your saves don't get all messed up, over supporting entirely new systems that might need different exploits. 1 fully hacked console > many barely hacked ones, IMO. Hell, I wouldn't even expect the XL to work properly with gateway. If you're gonna hack it, get the base console. It only makes sense. You don't buy a PSP-3000 when you want to hack it, you get a PSP-1000, regardless of how cool the 3000 is. When you get a Wii to hack, you don't get the one without gamecube ports, you get the launch model (even if it doesn't come in black). It just makes sense.

Except that GW's announcements in November and December are all centered around New3DS support

If you honestly think n3ds update will be out before the EU/US release you're kidding yourself.

Even from a business stand point it makes sense to be able to support all versions out of the box then incrementally go back and reinvent the wheel to add support for a couple more systems.

Some people on this thread are so unappreciative of Gateway.

No one fucking cares about your NN3DS you bought 4 months before this update even came out.

There's a 60 page long thread with waiting N3DS users. I would assume those people care, dipshit.

Why are you mad though?

You don't buy the latest console expecting to exploit it. That's just stupid. I assume those guys are also the ones that bought a PSP-3000 on launch and then complained they couldn't hack it.

Exactly.

Did the people that bought PSP-3000 at launch have a video from a hacker group showing it being hacked?

Except, you know, when the cart manufacturer releases a video of it explicitly working on the N3DS. And the PSP-3000 is a terrible analogy. The PSP-3000 is still hackable to an extent. It can accomplish all the same tasks as the other PSP revisions, including ISO and homebrew launching.

Doesn't matter. The real question is, was there a publicly available exploit that was well known to work before they bought a console expecting it to be hacked? You don't buy a 3DS with the expectation of 9.2CFW. As it doesn't exist at the moment. Neither does gateway's N3DS update, so you shouldn't buy a console expecting it.
