Please help! I'm stumped.

I had been successfully using Nintendont to play GC games from an SD card, and Wiiflow for Wii games on SD, but I've been trying to get it to work from a USB HDD and I'm having mixed results. I changed my HDD from a 2 partition WBFS + Fat32 to just Fat32, following every guide I could find. The data wasn't affected and there are no errors on the HDD. But I'm having trouble getting GC and Wii games to work in Wiiflow and USBloaderGX, and I have no idea what's causing it.

Trying to load GC games on Nintendont (v 2.241 (Wii U)) directly:
Kaze no Takuto (Wind Waker JP) works.
does not work:
Eternal darkness [freezes at 'Loading patched kernel...]
Sonic Adventure 2
Sonic Adventure DX [freezes at 'Loading patched kernel...]
Sonic Heroes

- loading GC games in Wiiflow (4.2.1 r441): correct paths set, but GC and Wii games are not found. Can't get past the 'Select partition' screen. Also, clicking the USB icon always freezes the system.

- loading GC games in USBLGX: This is weird. ONLY the Legend of Zelda Collectors Edition appears and loads. I tried changing ALL settings, either 0 or only that 1 game appears. Using latest revision. Wii games also do not appear.

- Config Loader (70r65): all GC games appear, but the message 'Devolution only accepts clean dumps!' pops up and boots me back to HBC. I don't see an option to use Nintendont, and I haven't used Devolution for GC games before.

Notes:
- no custom themes applied to HBC, wiiflow, etc
- Gamecube folder is usb1:/games/ , then game folders with the game's name, containing game.iso
- Wii folder is usb1:/wbfs/ , then game folders with NAME {GAMEID}, containing gameid.wbfs
- loaders and homebrew files are on sd. Correct paths are set in loader options.
- have d2x cIOS installed

Latest one is r78 google it.

Copy your files from HDD and reformat it cleanly. With partition wizard for example.Delete all partitions and create new one: MBR, FAT32, Primary (not logical).

Update:

I fixed the HDD, updated Config Loader, and nothing changed. The USB drive is MBR, Primary, Fat32, 32k clusters, no errors found, totally clean.

Nintendont still freezes the console when I click to load some games, failing to go past 'loading patched kernel...' (tested Soul Calibur II, Skies of Arcadia Legends)

Gamecube games still don't appear in Wiiflow.

No games appear at all in GX.

Config loader 70r78. there was some improvement: new Wii games I just added to the HDD did show up, but older ones still do not - all Gamecube games do appear.
It nearly loaded a Gamecube game (Soul Calibur II). But the output video changed when it loaded, and couldn't be displayed on my monitor. Even though I had it set to Gamepad+TV, nothing appeared on the Gamepad, and there was no sound either, so I have to conclude that it did not in fact load.
It successfully loaded one of the recently added Wii games, too (Klonoa).

Guys pleeeeeeease help me out here, if even just by directing me to other threads or summaries of info. There are a million threads on nintendont, usb loader gx, wiiflow, and loading games from usb drives in general... some of it is outdated, and even if not, if the thread is old, it's not easy to trust. That's why even though I might be asking for the same info as has been repeated elsewhere, there's still a lot of value in re-writing the correct info..

Here's my syscheck file, if that helps to narrow down the source of the problems. Let me know if you need any other info. Any suggestions for fixes are appreciated!!

If you have a WiiU formatted drive connected you might have to disconnect it before launching Nintendon't.
I have a theory that it enumerates the drives in a reverse order to the CIOS.

I have a theory that it enumerates the drives in a reverse order to the CIOS.

It's never been used for Wii U data.

Some updates after more trial and error testing:

wiiflow:

- tried reseting paths in path manager
- tried 'reload cache' - this caused some games to disappear and all others to triple (appear three times in a row in coverflow)

usb loader GX:
- game/install partition 'Not initialized'
- cannot change any settings in Hard Drive Settings
- still no GC or Wii games appearing
- custom paths have been checked, set, and are all correct
- no changes made to GUI/etc

Config loader:
- changed default gamecube loader to nintendont (did not previously see that option). Soul Calibur II loads successfully! But NFS Most Wanted froze the console (black screen)
- solved issue of most Wii games not appearing by changing "{}" brackets to "[]" brackets around the GameID portion of the folder names

So I'm close to an acceptable solution since Config Loader now works with Wii and GC games. I'm going to try deleting and replacing all the files and folders for the other USB loaders and giving them each one more try.

It's weird because Config used to be a distant third in my opinion, and I never used it over GX or Wiiflow. But now that's changed! Wiiflow and GX can go **** themselves.

In GX you shhould enable gc games before they appear.
In Wiiflow there is a button which changes to GC games.
