Considering that I have spent well over 30 hours since last Friday converting, copying and installing .cia files converted from scene releases, I thought I might compile a list of what works and what does not, using the excellent automated file package from Queno138.

See that topic here: http://gbatemp.net/threads/tutorial-converting-3ds-to-cia-for-dummies.373722/

Here is the list of games that I have installed properly, using The QuenoPack 4.6:

Arkham Origins - Blackgate
Art Academy - Lessons for Everyone
3D Sonic the Hedgehog
3D Streets of Rage
Cooking Mama 5 - Bon Appetit!
Disney's Epic Mickey - Power of Illusion
Disney Magical World
Fantasy Life
Fire Emblem - Awakening
Gyakuten Saiban 123 Naruhodo Collection (J)
Harvest Moon - A New Beginning
Harvest Moon - The Lost Valley
Luigi's Mansion - Dark Moon
Mario Kart 7
Mario & Luigi - Dream Team
Mario and Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games
Mario Tennis Open
Naruto Powerful Shippuden
New Super Mario Bros. 2
nintendogs + cats - French Bulldog
Paper Mario - Sticker Star
Pokemon X
Project X Zone
Shantae and the Pirate's Curse
Sonic Boom - Shattered Crystal
Sonic Generations
Spider-Man - Edge of Time
Super Smash Bros. 3D
Tales of the Abyss
Tetris Axis
Theatrhythm Final Fantasy - Curtain Call
The Legend of Zelda - Ocarina of Time
The Sims 3 Pets
Yoshi's New Island

Failed to install properly, or does not work when installed:

American Mensa Academy
Castlevania - Lords of Shadow - Mirror of Fate
Kid Icarus Uprising
Kirby Triple Deluxe
Sonic - Lost World
Star Fox 64 3D
The Amazing Spider-Man 2

All games are (U) region games, unless otherwise specified, and all were converted using the Express option. I will edit this post as I test more games. I'd also deeply, deeply appreciate it if anyone has any of the older batch files to try. I am going to take another crack at it again this evening when I get off of work, and try to repack some of my files with custom .rsf files, and see if that solves the problem.

Please feel free to comment and add any of your own findings.

Which file conversion package did you use? I got Kirby and Zelda to work when I was using Queno's 4.0 package, before it was automated, and I had to manually fill out the .rsf files. Then my SD card got corrupted, and I lost everything.

Star Fox 64 3D — worked for me, euro version, though. Both on CFW and GW. Pretty pointless thread, though.

Not really. A big part of why I am posting this is to see if anyone knows the solution, so I can stop wasting my time by trying to install improperly converted .cia files that won't work.

There are lots of tool packages now for converting .3ds to .cia, no two alike. Since Queno138's package is the most popular and the one most people are using, it would probably help both the end users and Queno138, himself, to have a bug report like this. At least that way we know which ROMs we have to manually convert, and which can be converted through a mostly-automatic process.

The goal is for there to be one tool that can easily convert .3ds to .cia without errors. Maybe I can help someone else avoid wasting over an hour on trying to install just one single game, only to have it fail. I know how much that sucks from personal experience over the last few days.

xorpads are files that represent the exact data size of certain ROM components. It's basically a dummy pad file that gets filled in with information from the actual ROM.

Did you make your own rsf file or let it auto generate? I just tried & it didn't work for me

LOL. That is why I made this topic, brother. So you wouldn't have to sit there and waste your time converting a .cia file that wouldn't work.

Queno138 told me he is going to release another QuenoPack with a toggle to the option to spoof the firmware, and to allow us to use our own .rsf files.
