Wondering if anyone has tested a proper smash bros rom with a 4gb SD card using this cart?

So far I've only found people playing with Gateway.

Lol, why did you buy the card in the first place?

Got it for $63 shipped at the time, whereas Gateway was like $80 something. They used to be on par, then Gateway came out with being able to play Pokemon, and now this.

I could live with not playing Pokemon X/Y, but there's no way in hell you can own a 3DS and miss out on smash bros.

Yeah, hate to say you're not special, but most everyone is kicking themselves for it this late in the game. Except the "i'm fine with playing the 1,000 games already out" crowd.

I still wonder, why people buy r4 cards, they are nothing but scammers in my opinion...
instead of supporting their cards, they just release new hardware revisions, so people have to buy new cards, it is never a good idea to buy a r4 card, seriously
if you want a DS flashcard, get a DSTWO
if you want a 3DS flashcard, get a Gateway
saving a few bucks for a r4 card, will always at some point backfire at you
if you decide to be a pirate, then at least do it right and get yourself some propper gear :-)
sorry for you now as it is not you, who is to blame, but the clone cards, but I guess, now you know better for future decisions

The original R4 card was actually pretty good, and then with the YWG firmware it became one of the best DS Lite flashcarts out there.
The only way now you can enjoy the smash brothers is to get a gateway 3ds.
That, or, you know... update and buy the game.

Their DS flashcard is only 10 bucks, and it plays every DS game available. If you're not interested in emulating a few past systems, there's no point in getting a DSTwo. Especially when you can already emulate more games than the DSTwo can on your phone.

Can't say anything about their 3DS flashcards, though.

I own a 3DS and a Gateway card and have no interest in playing this game

Same here. I played it for a few hours, but it gets boring super quick with no story mode.
