Let's talk seriously about this for a second. Why does it seem that female gamers are such mythical creatures? They start out young, just like anyone else, playing games with their brothers, sisters, parents and friends. Over time, they favor certain games more than others. When they mature, they develop a better understanding of gaming in general, and certain games/characters may leave an impact on them that they will always hold dear. Some even go so far as to painstakingly craft intricate costumes and cosplay as their favorite characters.

Who here disagrees that there shouldn't be, or already isn't an online community where they can connect with one another?

"Girl Gamers" (or "Grrrl Gamers" if you like) are just the XX version of this: desperately sad and sadly desperate. Nobody cares that you're here to "pwn noobs." Just play the video game and get on with your life.

Not to mention that the people who have to advertise themselves as "girl gamers" are usually complete shit (like Team Siren, with its 60% win/loss ratio, "Failure is not an option" and all).
