Hello, i have a 3DS XL and a Ace 3DS Plus and i'm wondering if there's any way to play GBA Games. First of all, i do know some ways but they don't work for me:

1. GBAEMU4DS
I've tryed it but it's really crap, it can't play games i want to play like Super Mario Advance 4, Sims bustin' out etc. so it's really not convenient.

2. DSTWO built-in GBA Emulator
I don't want to spend 40$ to play 1-2 GBA Games..

3. 3-in-1 EZFlash
3DS XL don't have GBA entry

Soo, is there anyway to play GBA games with a flashcard other than DSTWO, it would really help me so if you know something, tell me please.

+I'm new here, this forum is really cool

To my knowledge, this isn't possible with an Ace 3DS Plus. The DSTWO isn't perfect in running GBA games though, as I've seen many complaints about this already around here, but it's currently the best there is.

Dstwo is your only choice (besides that it has tons of other features and would replace the ace3ds)

Ace3DS need the Ez-flash 3in1 to play GBA roms,
but 3ds don't have slot-2, can't use ez-flash 3in1
so, Supercard DSTwo is the only card allow you run GBA roms on 3DS.

That's what i was thinking too, so i won't buy a DSTWO for sure, since i got a fully working Ace3DS Plus, anyway, i just want to play 2 GBA Games so paying 40$ for that is crazy. I've read that Gateway 3DS Blue Card could play GBA Games with a special kernel so i think this will be my solution, just need to wait for the 7.2.0 compatibility, hope it's coming soon..

It seems that you can gateway blue 3ds multikernel firmware v1.02 to play gba games with your Ace3ds Plus on your 3ds, see this thread : http://www.modchipfactory.com/news/...ba-games-on-n3dsxl-without-buying-a-a-99.html , i didnt test , for i dont have Ace3D Plus, but i will give my r4isdhc rts 3ds a shot.
That multikernel uses GBAEMU4DS as gameboy advance emulator to run gba roms so no luck there. i've tried this one and i can confirm it, its best to get dstwo plus there's great rpgs on gba if you're rpg fan

The Ace3DS will not play GBA games very well because the GBA emulator is not finished and the DS hardware isn't that powerfull. Dstwo can because the cart has a built in processor.

You want to play GBA games on your 3DS?
Buy a DSTWO.

You want to play GBA games without spending any money?
Tough luck, flashcarts aren't free. Play them on your PC or deal with it and buy a DSTWO. It costs more than other flashcarts for a reason, there's extra hardware inside that allows you to play those GBA games. If you're not willing to pay the extra needed to get that hardware, then GBA emulation obviously isn't important to you.

Until the 3DS gets some development libraries and more elaborate emulators start popping up, your only option that's not GBAemu4DS is the DSTwo, as mentioned above.

The GBA has like, way more than 2 good games anyway so I think that down the line, the DSTWO would be worth it to buy. My 2¢.

I'm assuming you're asking for GBA emu because you want portable GBA play.

Since you stated you may not be willing to get a supercard dstwo (which rocks, btw),

You can always consider the following option:

If you have a smart phone (can be android or ios), download the GBA emulator there.

I used GBA Emulators on both devices before and didn't have much problems.

Thanks for those answers, that just confirm what is was thinking. I won't buy a DSTWO for sure because i've got my Ace3DS Plus and honestly i just wanted to replay 2 games from my childhood, Super Mario Advance 4 and Sims Bustin' Out. I'm just gonna wait for a 3DS Flashcard like Gateway who can play GBA Games or play them with my computer. Anyway, i still have some wonderful GBA Games on my 3DS XL

I have the Ace3DS Plus and have tried a bunch of different things to get a GBA emulator to work but have been unsuccessful as well. My solution for this has simply been to look for games elsewhere. Honestly, a bunch of the best games for GBA are just remakes of games from the SNES so you can just emulate that and play the classics that came out for GBA (a couple for NDS as well, i.e, Chrono Trigger). For Pokemon games, I have a working GB/GBC emulator running on my DS so I been playing/downloading a bunch of the modern hacks which are great (just speed up the frame rate for sanity's sake).

I tried desperately to get a GBA emulator to work because I really love all for the GBA Pokemon hacks out there. So it's annoying that I can't get it to work with the Ace3DS but if you really want to play those games you can just emulate on an Android device which works perfectly. So can't really complain too much

Welcome to GBAtemp, please don't post in threads that haven't been active for nearly two and a half years.

The best way to play GBA titles on 3DS is via RetroArch either from the HBL or from your homescreen if you have a CFW set up.

Attempting to play GBA games on any DS flashcart other than the one that starts with Supercard and ends with DSTWO is a waste of time and effort.
