Most likely these are the final artworks for the Wii U and 3DS versions but the title itself is yet to be revealed because it'd be pretty stupid to have them as "SSB for Nintendo 3DS/Wii U" but then again there's "Yoshi's New Island" which shows Nintendo doesn't put much effort into making creative titles.

I was expecting them to have the same cover for some reason. Glad they're different.

Notice the colours in the artwork match the colours of the system's logo.
Also notice the artwork of the 3DS cover is sort of in 3D.

My guess is on this being the final title. Look at Pokemon X and Y with every thinking they were placeholders and how that turned out. Besides, it could be read as "Smash Bros 4 3DS/WiiU" which is probably what they were going for.

I was really hoping they'd drop the "for 3DS / for Wii U" text. The font just doesn't look good either, I'm also wondering why they're not using the Wii U logo such as in Wii Party U.

Would've definitely preferred "Super Smash Bros. 3DS" and "Super Smash Bros. U"

Is there a UK/USA release date for SSB on the 3DS yet?. I really don't know. I do hope Gateway pull there fingers out quick with the 7.1 encryption else a lot of us will be waiting along time to play it until GW sort it out!

Damm, it seems like it got put back until October the 3rd. I have just Googled it, I thought it came out in the USA in early July but must of changed now for a world wide release date for everyone.

I just find the 'nintendo' in "Super smash bros 4 for nintendo 3DS" pretty stupid. It's a long series that has always been on nintendo console and the 3DS is exclusive property of nintendo as well. Would it be too much to ask to at least get rid of that word?

The console is officially named the Nintendo 3DS. So that would be reasonable actually.
