When I try to load a rom in .n64 .z64 or .v64 format from my sdhc card, the rom loads for an instant then immediately goes back to the Wii64 menu and says it saved the game. when I try to resume it, it does the same thing. Is there anything I might be doing incorrectly?

Try deleting your settings file in the Wii64 folder, preferably deleting the app itself too, and start again (with Not64). Or have you got a GC controller plugged into your Wii that's a bit knacky, and/or 3rd party?

Is the settings folder created in a different directory than Wii64 root folder or the Wii64 app folder? If not, then that already isn't working for me, because when I installed Not64 I deleted everything that was from the zip file for Wii64 before that. Also, I'm just using a wiimote and nunchuck.

You wanna play N64 games with a Wiimote and nunchuk?! Are you mad, man?
Seriously though, that's a strange one: your settings is a config file rather than a folder, and in root:/wii64. Delete it and see what happens, but I'm not sure that'll help... Is it a regular wiimote or a motionplus? Have you tried the Wii64/Not64 plugins on wiiflow instead? Finally, compatibility isn't great anyway, so if nothing's happening and you give the ghost up, you're not missing THAT much.... VC versions of the games are better 90% of the time anyway (Though admittedly aren't much cop if you've only got a wiimote/nunchuk)

1. Check the compatibility list for Not64/Wii64
http://gbatemp.net/threads/not64-update.333569/page-5
2. You should have 2 folders. One in /apps called wii64 AND one in the root of your SD called wii64
I'll upload the correct files for you, instead of dizzying you with instructions. Just copy paste the files i give you onto your SD and you' re good to go. Put N64 roms in the wii64/roms folder.

@ mightymuffy: Mate, it's not that strange, if you consider that after all, nunchuck=middle prong of N64 controller. and Wiimote d-pad = N64 c buttons ;)
Also, for 60hz games Not64 is the only choice for us PAL gamers and for games like Starfox 64, Not64 is MUCH better than the real VC wad.

It's not that bad to play with a wiimote+nunchuck, it is pretty good actually sometimes like when I played Mario 64 or LoZ:OoT it was great, sometimes I just don't like to play with my gc controller when playing a game like diddy kong racing or mario kart I would use the motion sensor as if I'm playing Mario kart Wii.

Try formatting your SD, make sure you have a freshly downloaded emulator than put it on your SD card. If you have a usb drive or another SD card try those out as well. It could be the roms but I doubt it.

I don't think it's the ROMs since the demo ROM included with it isn't working either. I'm trying top use super Mario 64, which, unless I'm mistaken, should be compatible. I haven't tried wiiflow before, so maybe I'll try it if nothing else works. I'll try reinstalling Not64 again, but I think the problem may be because of something else.

EDIT: here's a video of what's happening if it helps. As you can see, it is loading the ROM then immediately closing it, which is keeping me from playing.

....Will have to have a blast with the wiimote and nunchuk someday then (yeah you're both right, sounds like it could be fun thinking about it!)

And you can add both F-Zero X (sort of) & Mario Party 2 to that list too nakata, plus the bar stewards fixed (broke? ) the glitch on both Wario Stadium & Rainbow Road on MK64, plus I prefer the Jap version anyway - Toad sounds like some 6 year old that's gone hyper off too much candy in the US version, and Luigi sounds like a sex offender! ....Was only trying to cheer him up with the VC if he couldn't get it working! (Actually despite buying several N64 VC titles I've since switched out my PAL versions with NTSC wads, but that's beside the point)

Hm, something might be wrong with your files then.
Anyway, did you download the files i uploaded? Try those too, and download a fresh rom of Mario 64 too.

Besides that you can also use IR aiming in GoldenEye, Perfect Dark & Turok, Turok Rage Wars or Starfox ;)
And if you are really crazy like me, you can play the above games (bar Starfox) one handed with the wiimote: set controls for lefties, use IR as analog stick (aiming), dpad as dpad N64 (moving), B as N64 Z (shoot) and A as N64 R (reticle). Finally + and - as n64 A and B respectively :gun:

Anyway, thing is this emu is THE BEST as far as control options are concerned. Wish it gets updated soon...
