It has been achieved! The developers of RCPS3 managed to run a Playstation Network game called Swap.



This is the first PS3 emulator to run an actual PS3 game. So not some sort of homebrew, an actual PSN game. This is a huge milestone to PS3 emulation.

Running games like Uncharted for example, are still impossible at this moment, since the emulator just isn't strong enough. Yet.

Development will probably still take a long time until we 'normal' people can use it.

I didn't find any thread about this. I looked in User Submitted News and in all of the PS3 sub-forums before posting it..

Guess you'll need a super computer to run PS3 games through emulation. PCSX2 already requires a fast processor, with four or more cores, to be able to run PS2 games accurately (even with speed hacks).

Quantic computers here we go!

Nice to see progress, but it will probably be years before we actually can play PS3 games playable on PC. Luckily, PS3s are cheap now :)
