I just found out about the DSTWO Cards and how when used you can play various emulators on your 3DS system. But can you play 3DS games as well? Also you can play ANY GBA, SNES, GAB, etc game even if it's in a different language or game entirely?

I would like to buy a 3DSXL and one of these cards but only if it can do everything.

NO.

GBA and older are not region locked, you would be able to play those games from another region.

I would like to buy a 3DSXL and one of these cards but only if it can do everything.
Then your probably SOL if you want yes to all of the questions above.

If you want to play 3DS roms, you will need to get a gateway flashcart. It cost around 80 bucks.

I'm not sure what GAB is but yes to everything else except 3DS games.

I meant to say GBA. So then which card is better the DSTWO Card or the r4i gold 3ds card?

If you want more features, but don't mind spending a bit more, the DSTwo is the way to go. It's the only one you'll ever need, too. R4i Gold cards are often blocked and require you to get a new R4 after certain 3DS FW updates. Plus, DSTWO is the only card on the 3DS that can play GBA games.

DSTWO: ~$40 (Includes pretty much everything you'll ever need for a Flashcard, besides 3DS Games)
R4i Gold: ~$20 (However, it's a bit limited compared to the DSTwo)

But don't take my word for it. Go here to see the pros and cons of all flashcards: http://gbatemp.net/threads/which-flash-cart-should-i-get.290097/

I believe it is still possible to buy a new 3ds XL with the 4.1 to 4.5 firmware to play the Gateway 3ds. I bought my new 3ds XL from Target back in July 2013 and it came with the 4.4 firmware. Just make sure the 3ds XL box has the year 2012 on the box.

As long as your on the 4.1 to 4.5 firmware, I think the Gateway is a good option. You can find it cost around $80. The comes with 2 Gateway flashcart cards, the red Gateway card can play 3ds games and the blue Gateway card can play ds games.

So what would happen if I got a 2013 3DSXL with higher firmware? I can't ever use one of these flash cards? How do you add games to the card anyway?

If you got a 3DS XL with a firmware higher than 4.5, you won't be able to launch 3DS games from any of the available 3DS flashcarts currently available (this is for the time being, I can't say for sure what'll happen in the future). You add games to the card by formatting the micro SD card using http://panasonic.jp/support/global/cs/sd/download/]Panasonic SD Formatter[/url] (or other SD formatting tools), then writing your game to the micro SD card as an image, which means currently, only one game per micro SD is possible.

The DS2 works on every firmware available at the moment and it's unlikely it'll be blocked forever in the future (if it does get blocked, the team usually releases a DS2 update that fixes it within a day or two). It doesn't matter what year or model 3DS you get, as long as the DS2 is updated it'll work.

Do you think the future Nintendo 3DS's consoles will have a way bigger screen size like the 3DS XL has a large screen but I mean a screen that goes to the edge covering the speakers putting the speakers elsewhere so that the screen is really BIG.

Only the future can tell. The 3DS XL is currently the nintendo handeld with the biggest screen.

don't get confused by the terms being tossed around in this thread. there are a few ds-mode flash kits which support the 6.x firmware. the 3ds-mode flash kits (ie: they can run 3ds roms only) require the 4.1-4.5 firmwares. the gateway 3ds was the first of the 3ds-mode flash kits to be publically released (crown 3ds being only a clone cart of splinter cell). the orange 3ds, r4i gold deluxe edition, and 3ds link are hardware clones of the gateway 3ds. all 3 are manufactured by r4idsn, the company behind the r4i gold .cn and the r4idsn ds-mode flash kits.
