Hi, I have a 3dsXL that used to work fine and hasn't been used in years. Now it just shows 'Failed to apply 1 FIRM Patches...' when powered on (no SD inserted). When I hold select and power the device on, I can see Luma3ds v8.1.1. When I press start from there I can get into GodMode9 Explorer v1.3.1.
When inserting the SD card into 3ds, using the files that already existed on the SD card, I just get a black screen, and the blue light comes on briefly before fading out. The 3ds will not go into recovery mode by using the button combination, and I have verified through simply navigating GodMode that all the required buttons are functioning. Now, I have tried the following things to get this to boot with the SD inserted:
I even tried to get GodMode to format the SD card, and it is showing up there. When I try to format it this way, it will eventually say "SD card i/o failure". The micro SD is reading and formatting in my PC. I'm starting to think the SD card reader may be messed up on the 3ds itself, not sure how I could verify that though.
UPDATE: I fixed the issue! I found another old SD card lying around, formatted it, and the 3DS has no issue using that. I compared the two SD cards, and really didn't see anything different even after using all of the formatting tools recommended. Instead, I used minitool partition manager, and formatted the SD card as well as rebuilt the MBR, and now the SD card works fine in the 3DS.

- Downloaded the Latest Luma and tried to boot that by following these steps
