Hey Sony, here are some good ideas:
For motion controlled games - the DS3 or DS4 sixaxis could be used.
For the touch screen - a mouse cursor like the one in the nvidia shield could be used for touch controls.
For the rear touch pad - the DS4 trackpad could be used, and for the DS3, you could use the analog sticks while holding the R2/L2 buttons to simulate touching the rear pad. Since the Vita doesn't an R2/L2 this is possible and a good idea.
I see them going for this actually but games like Tearaway will still be unplayable since it requires the microphone and the camera.

95%? But lacks TOUCH SCREEN functions?

Thats like saying a 3DS with out the D-Pad is still 95% functional for 3DS games.

70% or so would probably work fine, but thats a far call from 95 and sure as hell not enough for me to go and buy one.

Does anyone know if this can hook up to a computer? Sounds like a fun idea to hook up to a laptop when out and about, if so I'd vote yes :)

Touch screen function will be back once PS4 is released, at which point you can use DualShock 4 controller touch pad.

The front touchpad won't work at all as a touchscreen substitute. Maybe as a back touchpad substitute, but not a front touchscreen. Trying to get any form of precision on a small touchpad blown up to a large screen as well as the disconnect of not actively poking where you see will make the thing close to unusable.

Also I'm pretty positive there's no news relating to the PS4 controller and it's functions relating to the Vita TV.

I'm also mighty disappointing with Sony for not calling it a TiVa.

I'd rather just buy a PS4.

Except it will be 1/4 the price of the PS4. It would be hard to find a used PS3 at that price.

This is a brilliant idea. It'll probably be a year or two before the PS3 is discounted, and this gives the budget buyers a nice system with a decent game library.

Right now, which would you rather buy a PS2 or this?

The Vita TV uses remote play to access the PS4 in a different room so you basically need a PS4 controller if you want to play your games over remote play.
I'm also pretty sure that Shuhei mentioned that PS4 support will be patched on to improve Vita game compatibilities.

...to be honest, I really like the Vita, but can't agree with the Vita TV. The lack of touch-screen/pad are sensible because even being mainly used by a few games, are used by some of the best games Vita has to offer. For an example, Killzone and Gravity Rush, two of Vita's greatest games. So, to have a Vita TV and not be able to play some of it's main games, is a great drawback for me.

I don't know why Sony keeps doing this to themselves. Just let the Vita die. Its not a good idea. The vita already has enough problems without another piece of clutter.

You do realize that VIta TV was NOT meant to replace Vita. It is meant to compete budget console such as Oyua and Gamestick.

I'll buy one to steam ps4 games to, but I can't imagine how bad Vita games would look blown up to a 4K screen... which will definitely be a standard resolution a few years into the next-gen cycle.

Given they still flog large sub 1080p screens I am not going to join you in that bet. I certainly would enjoy higher res screens but I am not expecting them to get cheap.
