No you will have to do a hardware downgrade at this time no software downgrade exists and if anybody says different their full of shit. Until Hackers get Sony's new private Keys which they changed after 3.55 software downgrading is out of the question. You will need to buy an E3 Flasher. Your best bet would be Amazon or Modchip Central. The E3 Flasher costs about $70-$100 depending on where u get it.

Best of Luck to you and here are a couple resources How to Downgrade --> https://www.modchipcentral.com/store/E3-Nor-Flasher-Downgrader-USA-CANADA.html E3 Flasher

P.S. there are services that offer E3 Installation btw search around on Ebay a bit or maybe on the forums of PS3Hax there might even be some tempers here that offer E3 Downgrades :)

Sorry, once again I didnt notice the page 3 until ages late.
I'm going to look for such services, how much would they cost me, for free/shipping or would it be a better bet to buy one that has the cfw already installed?

How do i even check if my ps3 is hackable for the nand/nor e3 flasher.

I'm back. Its been a month of silly runarounds and such, but I finally have a ps3 with multiman installed on it. However, everytime I try to play a back up game off HDD, it just boots me back to the main ps3 menu. Help?

Make sure you have a game disc in the drive. Then when multiman boots you back to the xmb, look for the game you tried to boot from the usb.

I assume that you installed the BDEMU2 and you also set the permissions of the game from within multiman.

So i have to put the game disc in anyway? Whats the point of having multiman then?

most backups require a disc installed to play them. any game disc will work, as long as it's a ps3 game disc. that means you can have many games installed to the usb, and only have to own one retail game.

Now I get you. Thank you, I'll give it a try when I have time and get back to posting in this thread. ALso by usb do you mean internal HDD or external HDD.

multiMAN lets you install to the internal or external. You need a disc in the drive to play most backups no matter where the backup is stored.

Not true. Recent multiman revision increase no disc compatibility quite a bit. I haven't run into a game that needs disc inside.

In the case of Rebug, load the game from multiman as usual. Then scroll to PlayStation 3 on XMB (before you launch multiman it is called /app_home/GAMES).

really, I never took my disc out, wow, I'll have to try that.

So maybe harx has a different problem then?

I'm finally back, took me a while to find this thread, so hopefully you will still reply to me.
My ps3 works with ps3 games, however I'm having some issues with the retro tab.
It can't seem to load any ps2 games. It just freezes. I've tested the games themselves using an emulator and via disk, so what do I do?
