Yes there is its called the Splinter cell exploit its an exploit that uses the memory card and a splinter cell save file and it allows you to run backups and homebrew on the original Xbox

If u want you can save your money and i can mod Your Xbox for ya for free

And on the PS2 are u asking how to install freemcboot?
 
Actually you can use a external HDD and use is with all your consoles. I have one that is shared by both my wii and PS3 (not at the same time).
At first I had to partition it beacaus the wii backuploaders did work very well under FAT32 and I had to use the wbfs on that partition, but now we can use FAT32 on wii without any problem so its actually possible to store wii and Ps3 backups on the same partition.

I dont know how you would use one drive on several devices at once but you could buy a USB switch to switch between your consoles with the click of a button.

Still no ps3, shop is taking forever to get it in.

danipoo: Thats the idea, coupled with a switchboard to keep the power flow in check.
 
How would I have you mod it? Not being rude, I live in australia. Unless the postal is cheap, in which case then I would totally send you my ps2/ps2 memory cards. But that would have to wait til the christmas holidays, when I get free time, unless something clears up sooner.
May I continue to ask questions while I do the ps2 one by myself?

Are there any other Mcfreeboot guides you would recommend, I got confused at the end, just before he patches the ISO

But as time goes on I'm getting more and more to the point where I'm considering posting you an amazon/ebay bought ps2/,xbox so you can install homebrew on them and then post them forwards to me. Is that something you would do? Or am I asking for too much.
It would have to be in a couple of months time, I havent budgeted for something like that so I would need to save up, unless I suddenly win the lotto or something.

:wtf: No man what i meant was if u wanted to i could mod your PS2 memory card with freemcboot (for free) all you would do is just ship your mem card out to me and i would mod it with freemcboot and then i would ship it back to you. Then if u wanted your Xbox modded i could also mod that for you as well (for free).
 
Ah, now I getcha. Just a question about mcfreeboot, do I always have to have the memory card inserted or is there a way to install the firmware directly onto the ps2 boot up?
 
For FreeMcboot the mod is on the Memory Card so in a sense its (*On the Fly*) because you can take your Modded Memory card out of one PS2 and put it in another and that one will be modded because the expolit is on the memory card and not on the HDD.
 
Yes there is im sure you would have to get a modchip although i havent really looked into that the only hack/mod that ive done with PS2 is FreeMcboot.

Honestly a hard-mod is not necessary because evrything u can do with a Hard-Mode i.e. Homebrew Backups Emulators u can do with FreeMcBoot
 
Alright, well I've hit a road block, every guide I've found has told me to use an AR MAX cd to install the files onto the memcard, yet I dont have one. Is there another way?
 
Yes there is the jist of it is that you need to Download The FreeMcBoot Noobie Package and extract the files on to the USB Drive and you need to have Swap Magic etc etc. Its a process lol anyway here is a good tutorial that should explain what im saying

You can mod your memory card yourself. I did mine using the swap disc trick. There is also another way to mod your memory card using an official Sony brand memory card reader for PS3, it's for transferring PS1/PS2 game saves to a PS3.

Where's the fun if somebody does it for you?

Once FreeMcBoot is installed you just put the memory card in and it works it's that easy btw no offense was taken i totally understand what you mean.
 
Do you know anyway to softmod an xbox 360? Thats another console on my to-hack list.

How do I install mcfreeboot via the memory card reader?
 
I have no expeirence with 360 Modding at all to be honest.
The video that i linked you too should explain how to install freemcboot if you're still having trouble then i would try finding a mod service or somebody who is willing to mod it for ya in Australia
 
Alright, thank you. I'll leave this thread open and post in it once I get my ps3. Which will hopefully be in the next few days
