Did they send you a review sample as well? And if they did what shipping method did you get so I know when the review will come from you

I am to get a review sample from another reseller. Whether I get expedited treatment or not remains to be seen. I will keep you guys updated though. This seller is reputable though, so I'm certain that if the Gateway IS real, I'll more than likely get the appropriate responses from my retailer.

Jeez, can't you just wait 3-5 days plus the time it takes to do the review?

From what someone told me, they have 4.2 or 4.3. I don't know if they were telling the truth, though.

That'd make no sense. My brand new red 3DS XL was on 4.4.0, and the blue XL I got today was on 4.4.0. Both were made in 2012.

GEtting the sample takes two to five days, yes. Doing a proper review that is as thorough and comprehensive per GBATemp standard takes longer, looking at two+ weeks. I know it's not the answer you want to hear, but for any good review, you're going to want a longer period of time. Whether he does small updates for game tests, etc., is completely up to him, but in my opinion that will just hinder the process.

Intro, Contents, Build Quality, Setup, Usage, Compatibility, End Score, etc. I wasn't expecting it to take too long, but with the new information given to us it might take two weeks. Since the Blue card does DS roms, and homebrew it's going to be a bit more lengthy testing out the compatibility. Also I'd like to try 20-30 of the highest rated 3DS roms, and other ones I'd like to test. (Reason being that the top 20-30 games would be the reason most people would be getting the GW3DS.) I'd like to also test if Micro SD card class affects the games in any way. Bunch of other things I'll tinker with on the side as well. Rom trimming, save replacement, etc.

And now I wait, and the main thing to remember is that it's not a race people. There will be tons of people reviewing it, both on here and other places. I will probably post updates here and there but I want the juicy bits to stay in the review.

Impossible.

The AC: New Leaf Bundle shipped with v5 firmware and that came out two months ago. Version 4.3 is a year old.
New colors/bundles that are event-oriented are always fresh manufacturing runs and you get, at the latest, a 2 month old firmware.

Will do, and it's sorta GBAtemp policy. We have medals however. Bronze, Silver, and Gold ones.

I know it's policy! But it's one hell of an outdated one, if you ask me. Nowadays its like, oh it runs games, automatic SILVER MEDAL! I was approved for a unit from NDS-Card (bless them) once they get units on hand. According to Gateway's most recent emails, they sent the units out to their distributors, which in turn will arrive to resellers by week's end, hopefully. And now that Devin has gotten a tracking number, I'm feeling slightly more positive about this fiasco.

Depends on the shipping method. DHL takes about 5 days, China post.. 2-3 weeks.
