Hacking Just got a Wii U what are the steps to get vWii working?

FYI have a Wii with an external USB already, however just got a WiiU and updated to latest firmware as of July 28th 2013..

I see a couple of guides on the site for various features and add-ons however I wanted to ask for myself and other new users that have similar questions. What is the newest / proper way to get vWii modded?

If someone could point user of this thread to the threads, and or updated instructions on whats needed It would be appreciated.

Some of these guides are quit old and lots of don't need this or that anymore. So hoping to get a newer step by step for beginners.

You basically just need to run one of the exploits that work on the vWii. There's a list here.

In the last column it'll tell you whether it works on vWii mode, if it does then click the exploit's link. From there the instructions are pretty simple.

EDIT: All of the working vWii exploits require you to have a exploitable game.

Ok so Im going to go get LEGO Batman since its at my local Best Buy but after that whats the steps to get the USB CFG loader etc on them?

This would be the tutorial to use once you've got the homebrew channel installed. Even though it's old, vWii mode really hasn't changed much.

Hmm well just bought lego and a SDHC card did the batman exploit load and when I selected the character like it say I get a black screen with savezelda v1.1-7 bunch of text cleaning up environment etc than it says No code found to load hanging..

Needs to be non-SDHC (<=2GB).

yes i just found out its the SCHD card causing the issue got an old SD 1.0 gig here and installed the homebrew channel and did all backups and CISO loaders installed. Now I need to choose a loader I guess whats the most up to date and best??

Other people seem to be helping you out fine but there's one thing they didn't mention.
You'll probably need a USB Y-cable for your USB HDD unless it has its own power supply as the Wii U does not provide enough power to the USB ports.

THanks for all the help guys.. Needed a Y adapter like stated above but I had one for my old laptop!! Yeah me! All iw working now.. one last quest.. Im using USB cfg loader does that support gamecube titles now? if so any pointers on how to install them etc?

I did read some of them, however there was alot of changes since those were posted. Just wanted an updated posting.. Sorry your butt hurt...

On a side note, does anyone know a way to make the message about your HDD isn't formatted for WiiU that appears each time you stat up the Wii U. I dont want to format it over to Wii U use since its holding my Wii files..

Another reason why I think your guide should be on the main page - not just inside another important one (or at least edit the title of the progress guide to include - hacking guide as well or something like that).
