I was gathering some rom sets together, for play on the DS, and discovered that many of the emulators available either crash or slow to a crawl when confronted with a directory full of hundreds(if not thousands) of roms. At best, if your roms are all in one folder you are going to spend a looong time scrolling to the one you want.
This is irritating. So I wrote a little executable that creates folders by letter("0","A","B"..."Z") and moves your roms(any file really) into those folders based on the first letter in the file name.
That's it...that's literally all it does. There are no options. It runs on Windows only.
To use, place the executable file in your rom folder, and then run it. *The EXE has to be in the folder your roms are in, if you run it on your desktop or something you'll wind up with all your icons uselessly stored in folders A-Z*.
Just thought I'd throw this out there in case anyone else owns every 8-16 bit game ever made and needs to sort their "backups" for use on the DS.
