Unless that japanese player can duplicate items. I'm not sure if they fixed the glitch for the japanese versions. I know they did for the international releases.

Actually no it's not that moronic. It's kinda like pokemon events. It was a limited promotional event in japan. It's supposed to be extremely rare.

Ahh I was prepared for that, sucks but adds more playability in the long run I guess

EDIT:

I don't know if anyone's aware, but when it's nighttime...if you go on an island tour it's always daytime and insects like butterflies and stuff are active...so it might work for fish that aren't active at night too so you can possibly bypass time traveling/waiting overnight for some daytime animals to spawn by just going on a tour. I'm not certain for all catchable things but definitely looks like insects work. I just caught a Banded Dragonfly and it's 3am over here. If the tour isn't specific you can take the things home with you too. You'd obviously just take the tools you need from Lloid

All you have to do to catalog is hold the item once, and yes I have to order the set but I'll do it today so you can come to my town tonight
