Might want to read up on your French history a bit, granted it may have been Prussia or the Austro-Hungarian Empire at the time (this gets very tricky and that is before we discuss what the natives might have called themselves) but Napoleon did invade and get parts of what is recognised as Poland today.

I shall have to look it up but Canada and Poland did do a reasonable bit together during World War 2. Now whether this means Canada sends troops to invade Poland is what I am going to have to look up.
