I've been waiting forever for this, what an awesome mod.

The one thing that bugs me about it though is lack of USB loading, I understand it's supposed to work piracy free but my disc drive is kind of on and off nowadays and Riivolution loading times are absolute horse poop.

I can't load it through riivolution from my usb. Other mods run fine from USB. Don't know why it won't show up. Gotta find my SD adapter.

My disk drive burned out a long time ago (launch model).

Thanks for leaving me in the dust... Bro.

Not their problem. That your problem. Bitch at N for leaving you in the dust since you apparently can't load any legit game discs right now anyways.

The developers seem to have a "holier-than-thou" attitude about USB loader support. I can't play the mod for a very legitimate reason, so I'm am voicing my opinion.

And you can't legitimately play the NSMB without homebrew right now. Seriously, keep this crap out of this thread. There any millions of other threads that you can bitch about this over that has already been covered a million times over.

Either send your wii to N for repairs, repair it yourself, or quit complaining. Your complaining wont make any difference anyways, so why waste your effort.

Actually you can play this game with a burned copy of NSMB, you just need a modchip in your system ;).

Though this does not help those with a burnt out drive, mines is starting to go, so i switched to wiiflow and burned all my games to my HDD before my drive crapped out on me. It is true that groups tend to feel almighty if they stray to anti-piracy in an attempt to make Nintendo look at them and think "awah how kind". Don't even try to deny the fact that Homebrew even went that route in an attempt for Nintendo to support it. Its kinda sad that they even think this way, despite the fact they had to hack the system, something Nintendo hates, to instal homebrew in the first place.

But im straying from the subject =D, I'm in world 5 atm, awesome mod, i practically gave up on this HACK a year and a half ago. So im happy this HACK didnt turn into Vaporware :yaywii:

Old thread

This cannot be converted to an ISO. You need a legally purchased retail New Super Mario Bros. disc to play.

I created this thread because the old one is extremely out of date.
Can we get a version that can be played via ISO? My brother is disabled and the only way he can enjoy recent Nintendo games is via his emulator, using a special controller he uses to control his computer.

Not allowing the mod to be played on an emulator is needlessly alienating him from playing and enjoying the work of this mod.

The community from where this hack has originated believes if they stick to anti-piracy, Nintendo will agree and support their content. Your only hope of an iso is if it comes from another community.

That's too bad. Not only is their reasoning bad (Nintendo will not tolerate users editing their copyrighted content), but it has consequences that have no real reason for causing, such as preventing my brother from playing.

How unfortunate of them to be like so.

If the Newer team asserts that piracy in this instance is 'taking away from devs', they're off-base. It's actually just taking a few pennies away from Gamestop. I guess that's an outrage?

Devs still don't get paid and less people play their nice mod. Its a shame really, but I guess some people are willing to sound righteous at any cost.

I think many people are missing the point here.

They simply just don't support using an ISO to play that's it. It would require extra code and more work and why should they do that?
They don't owe the people that they can use ISOs.

But what do you expect from Generation Entitlement?

This is really a great mod, I had the chance to beta test it and played most levels already and they really feel nintendo-like and they even bring new things to the game that are great.
Simply the best mod for NSMBW while you can hardly call it a mod cause it pretty much replaces the whole game.

I didn't check the release version yet but you should be able to use a classic controller to play.

With the right tools and knowledge you can play Newer without owning the game.

I can confirm it works through USB on riivolution but it seems to load slower than on SD for some reason.

Yup, that's how it is. Riivolution from disc is siginificantly slower than USB Loading + Codes and it's the same way for Brawl mods, except Brawl mods have the luxury of the stage builder exploit/File Patch Code so you can get (almost) USB loading speeds using a legit game disc without a modded Wii.
