Right, now that you have a team of artists, all you need is a programmer and you can start making, y'know, actual games? :tpi:

Seriously guys, why hack Pokemon like dozens of other people if you can engage yourself in full-blown game development? I never quite understood the whole appeal of hacking existing games when people can make their own any way they like. :P

Hacking Pokemon games and games in general is, depending on the skill level of the hacker, an easy way to see if someone would even have the patience and problem solving skills to be able to get anywhere in game development.

Take Edmund McMillan for example. He has fantastic games such as Binding of Isaac and Super Meat Boy, but he started off modding games and making stuff in level editors.

...and one day he stopped and figured that rather than modifying games, he could make his own, which is what I'm saying here. ;) I treat most ROM Hacks as "doodles", I'm merely saying that actual game development is always an option if you have an already formed team.

Correct. I'm just saying that ROM hacks is a good place to start to just see if you have the patience and problem solving skills. Some people here who have done rom hacks show potential at being able to make their own games if they learn to program. Then there's me going to college to become a science teacher... But being a science teacher would be a bit more stable of a job. But I could do game stuff in my free time. =]

Full blown game design? Foxeh, I'm glad you expect so much from me
But i'm not quite there yet, lets just see if we can make a pokemon game first eh? Stepping stones, this is the first one

How do you delete posts?
Sorry for the double post.
You cant delete double posts, dont worry its fine coz it was an accident ^_^

I have a question, Strife. How are you with music/sprite editing. Do you know your way around?
Both were my jobs, I made a heck load of sprites and such a while ago before my work kicked in again, and while I still had mixcraft I edited a few bits of music, but i lost mixcraft since my laptop had to be reset in repairs. Wasnt the best at music but the ones I did sounded alright to me.
