Need a bit of assistance here because i'd like a solution that's easier than typing it all in manually....

I've been watching the Tower of Druaga on DVD but oddly enough the final "bonus" episode doesn't have subs...which isn't a problem for the DVD as it's dubbed but there are certain points where there is untranslated text so i'd like to actually insert a sub file to cover those points.

I found the subs here in a text format that looks related to Aegisub but i'm unsure how to get anything workable out (everything gets placed into the dialogue section). I've also tried DVDSubEdit (which i'm more familiar with) but that also returns nothing.

Can anyone either serve me up a subtitles file made from that text or tell me how to do it?

Oh you need download Aegisub and time it yourself. Or if you can make someone else do it.

Download Aegisub>Install>Run>File>Open Subs>Time the .txt>Enjoy?

Edit: Or download .txt and open notepad and scroll down as you watch to read?

Like I say this is part where you are time... Only if you can somehow get raw video of "bonus video" and import to aegisub to time... But if you cannot do that.. Just open notepad and scroll down as you are watch to read.. The subtitles are correct order just not timed..

Edit: Look at raw they are use..

Maybe you can find somewhere and time with that.. Hmm... I wonder who subs this is... Fansubbing brings nostalgia... Good times (◕‿◕✿)

What's the point of downloading a video i already have on DVD to obtain subs i also already have but just need a hand converting?

The subs are there. The timings are there. There's mention of something to do with scripts in the text file....i just need someone who knows about converting or making either ass or srt files from text sources.

Edit - and to avoid confusion i'm ripping with handbrake so i can actually incorporate the sub file i hope to get...

You are correct.. I looked in the .txt It is just not timed. They all say 0.00.00.00 You can cnvert this .txt file into .ass by File>Save subs as.. but they will not show up on the video since they are not timed.

But the timings are there...look up at the image (timings are to the left of the dialogue but not in the right place to be recognised). They're just not being read for some reason, although i assume the program that made this output file would recognise it, which is why i'm asking for some help.

Whether it would just be a case of linking up http://www.aegisub.org/downloads/#windows or not I have no idea about at this point but

Only partway exotic thing I might have done is encode in UTF-8 when I pasted it in notepad++. I should also note if the thing is aimed at 1280x720 it might trouble the DVD but consider that later (the auto convert looks like it did OK anyway).
