When I loaded Monster World IV, it gives me a message stating in effect "This game is only designed for Japanese Mega Drive systems" or something like that. In the standalone version of Genesis Plus GX, I'm able to switch console regions. How do I do it with Retroarch?

I don't get that at all right now on the libretro version of Genesis Plus GX (PS3) - and that really shouldn't differ in anyway from the Wii version. Monster World 4 just works. Are you using the no-intro romsets?

Anyway, I'll be sure to check it out before I do the release.

On the CPS2 Marvel vs. Capcom games, it works fine. When I play Cybots: Full Metal Madness, the buttons cease to work. Is there a reason?

Umm, I don't know what you mean by "no-intro romset". I'm using the fan translation, if that helps.

By the way, you never mentioned if you fixed the issue with TG16 CD games from not playing. They do however work fine in 0.9.7.2

Not thoroughly, but I will. Glad to hear that Nestopia was set back to mono though. B-) There's also a weird issue if you play RetroArch on the Wii U's Wii Mode, if the performance suddenly goes berserk, you have to hard reboot the console. Going back to the menu and back to the emulator will not affect it. Using the regular Wii is a must.

Using the regular Wii is also a must for 240p, as the Wii U's lowest mode available is 480i, and the funny thing is that the Wii does a MUCH better job at 480i than the Wii U, at least in Composite (mostly due to VI Color Trap I believe, which is absent in Wii-U from what I see thusfar).

The non-translated version works fine for me, I don't have the translated rom to test but my Bare Knuckle III translated rom works fine.

Sure thing.

Edit: I found one online tested it and can confirm it works. I will PM you.

Also just tested and can confirm that Real Bout Fatal Fury Special works on the latest version of RetroArch. Love that game!

A question, there is any planned support for Armv6 ? I know most of the emulators wouldnt run at full speed (Psx, Cps2 etc), but i would really like to have most of the old school emualtors in 1 application.
Putting both ARMv5 and ARMv7 binaries into a .apk can sometimes mean phones that support AMRv7 load the ARMv5 binary files. It's a bug in Google's code, and since the workarounds are too complicated, we just dropped it. We'll probably put it back in if they ever fix that.

BTW, for this next upcoming release, I'll release a Gamecube version as well.

NOTE: YOU'RE ON YOUR OWN WITH THE GAMECUBE PORT. IF A CORE DOES NOT RUN A GAME, CHALK IT UP TO 'DOESN'T FIT INTO GAMECUBE'S PALTRY AMOUNT OF RAM'. I MIGHT BE TEMPTED TO DO CUBE-SPECIFIC IMPROVEMENTS LATER ON, BUT FOR NOW IT'S JUST A PLAIN PORT OF ITS BIGGER BROTHER, RETROARCH WII (EXACT SAME CODE).

I'm putting this in all-caps so it's irritating enough for people to notice it and that they get a piece of my mind as to where I stand with this port.

Yeah, I feel like a derp for not realizing why Snes9x Next was running weirdly. Rewind was turned on without realizing it. Epic fail on my part.

The only PC Engine CD game I've ever played is Dracula X (Japan).

if there's still an issue with the latest core, then it won't be fixed for this release. I might look into it though and if I can get it fixed, push an interim update.

Any more issues you guys encountered? I heard something about input in some PC Engine games being screwed up - is that true?

@Jayro, I don't see whats so special about the DS ML, its just a DS lite in a phat shell. At least the phat model had louder speakers, whereas the lite has a much better screen.

They probably said "Hey, why not we combine the two together and make a 'new' DS to sell".

It's a DS Lite in a slightly bigger DS Lite shell.

    It's not a Nintendo / iQue official product, it's a 3rd party custom.

Nothing special about it other than it's more comfortable than the Lite

@SylverReZ if you could find a v5 DS ML you would have the best of both worlds since the v5 units had the same backlight brightness levels as the DS Lite unlockable with flashme

A woman with no arms and no legs was sitting on a beach. A man comes along and the woman says, "I've never been hugged before." So the man feels bad and hugs her. She says "Well i've also never been kissed before." So he gives her a kiss on the cheek. She says "Well I've also never been fucked before." So the man picks her up, and throws her in the ocean and says "Now you're fucked."

anyways, we need to re-normalize physical media

if i didn't want my games to be permanent, then i'd rent them

  • BigOnYa @ BigOnYa:
Agreed, that why I try to buy all my games on disc, Xbox anyways. Switch games (which I pirate tbh) don't matter much, I stay offline 24/7 anyways.
  • AncientBoi @ AncientBoi:
    I don't pirate them, I Use Them :mellow:. Like I do @BigOnYa 's couch :tpi::evil::rofl2:

  • cearp @ cearp:
@BakerMan - you can still "own" digital media, arguably easier and better than physical since you can make copies and backups, as much as you like.

    The issue is DRM
  • cearp @ cearp:
You can buy drm free games / music / ebooks, and if you keep backups of your data (like documents and family photos etc), then you shouldn't lose the game. but with a disk, your toddler could put it in the toaster and there goes your $60

    :rofl2:
  • cearp @ cearp:
still, I agree physical media is nice to have. just pointing out the issue is drm
  • rqkaiju2 @ rqkaiju2:
i like physical media because it actually feels like you own it. thats why i plan on burning music to cds
