If you played Fallout 3, you probably remember Three Dog. He was the announcer for Galaxy News Radio, the in-game station that played jaunty tunes and dished out news about the irradiated Capitol Wasteland.

Well, Erik Todd Dellums, the voice actor responsible for Three Dog, has given fans a little treat.

"To all my #Fallout3 and #ThreeDog fans: There may be more of the Dog coming! Fingers crossed!" he recently wrote on Twitter. Giving a touch of official-sounding heft to the pronouncement, he added, "How was that for a tease! I was given permission to release that tease, so fingers crossed."

Just when he thought Three Dog was oooouuuuutttttt, they pull him back in!

Now, there's no saying for sure what this game will be. Fallout 4 seems to be an obvious candidate, but Bethesda may very well be taking the franchise in a different direction. For all we know, it could be a radio station management spin off.

I can't say I'm much of a fan of the character; I was hoping Three Dog bowed-out wow wow for good. Still, the fact that we're getting another installment in the Fallout franchise is interesting at least. Here's hoping it's more New Vegas than 3.

Give me another Fallout! IMO Fallout 3 was a great game and a pretty good adventure in a legacy world based on Fallout 1/2 (yes they're in the same world, but Fallout 3 is very different in regards to gameplay).

Just hopefully they'll make it work with the PS3..

I have all of them including the ps2 game too :) it's good to hear that a new fallout game could be coming but what console will it be released on? it could be too late to release on ps3 & xbox 360.

Rather than another Bethesda Fallout I think I'd rather have another Obsidian Fallout.

Fallout 3 to me is just dull and boring while Fallout New Vegas on the other hand provided me with hours and hours of fun/interesting adventures.

The opinions shared on this thread make me question my own.

I liked Fallout 3. I beat Fallout 3. I couldn't make it through even the beginning of New Vegas. Twice.
I wonder what I'm doing wrong...

hell no, do you know how bad they are as a gaming developer? their games are always bug ridden, fallout new vegas on the ps3 was a bug ridden lag fest mess.

New Vegas > Fallout 3, true. Just more colour to it, and the world was maybe more interesting than the one in Fallout.

Liked it more, wouldn't say Fallout 3 is a bad game, definitely not. But New Vegas has some clear improvements IMHO.

Me, I could never get far in Fallout 3. The main quest was spread too far over nothing, so there was no tension or reason to keep going. It was more like, Oh, here I am, cool, I guess. I've tried playing it several times since release, but it always ends this way, right after Rivet City. I suppose having already explored that area repeatedly contributes to the feeling, but then again, I replay tons of games that are repetitive. Maybe it's that Fallout 3, Bethesda's version, is a bore to me :/

I actually haven't tried New Vegas since the time it came out., but I remember liking it a bit more, as it was paced for the player to explore. Whereas Fallout 3 had no pacing whatsoever.

Actually you could just as well do that in Fallout 3. Sure it takes a while to start the game (especially with the bugs before the patches (and sometimes after patches)), but the world is pretty much open. Just like the previous Fallout games (1 & 2), there are places where you'll get your ass kicked at low levels. On the other hand, there are places that don't have any connection to the main quest that can pump you up to go to the next locations with tougher enemies. I pretty much got my ass kicked by Deathclaws the first time I met them, but after a while, I was running the place around with a rifle and shooting their brains out :D

if only we could combine the less bud ridden coding of fallout 3 with everything else of new vegas

I was running the place around with a rifle and shooting their brains out :D
that won't happen in new vegas even on very easy

At level 30 with pretty much the best weapons the game has to offer, it is possible. Before that? Run like hell.

New Vegas is the better game, but if only it had less bugs dues to bad coding :I

Let's start with the fact that Fallout 3 didn't feel like a Fallout game. There are two major components worth mentioning (outside of the obvious Wasteland) in a "Fallout-ish" world - references to the real world pop culture and humour. References alone don't cut it, they need to be humorous - this is why New Vegas is far, far superior to Fallout 3.

That's also a big plus for why I like Fallout 3 over New Vegas. The Wasteland was detailed in its mes, whereas New Vegas had pockets of even more detailed areas... but they were like, the real meat of the game, while the rest of the overworld was sparse, useless, and just a tunnel to try and funnel the player from one location to the next.

The individual locations in New Vegas are bomb. Fallout 3 puts more work into recreating somewhat of a varied landscape, and then does worse in varying up the inner locations, imo.

Just like the previous Fallout games (1 & 2), there are places where you'll get your ass kicked at low levels.
Actually, Fallout 3, like Oblivion and even Skyrim, features a level scaling system where you can go anywhere you want and the enemies will always be at your level. Some enemies are more dangerous than others, but you'll, unlike New Vegas, never wander into an area where you know you're not supposed to be thanks to the enemy levels. You just wander wherever and push through like it were nothing.

Thankfully fan mods fix this, but trying to scale different areas of the game with different scales of enemy sets. It really complicates and details the world of Fallout 3, which without, is even more bland. The game literally doesn't progress, isn't active, unless the player is. That just feels awkward to me.

I'm level 1 and I have a stick. I will now proceed to poke a Super Mutant I randomly encountered in the middle of nowhere. Yay, I won. Fun.

Ugh, that system is so incredibly silly. The Wasteland is supposed to be unfair, you're supposed to get the sh*t end of the stick time and time again until you're a God - there's a difference in difficulty scaling when there's a smallest, base difficulty from which you scale upwards and scaling down to cockroach level just because someone felt like going in a random direction on Level 1.

I'm perfectly aware of how bug-ridden Obsidian's games are. Despite that I still find their story telling far superior to that of Bethesda.

Let's start with the fact that Fallout 3 didn't feel like a Fallout game.
Well as for my case you can safely ignore that. When I played through Fallout 3 and later Fallout New Vegas I had yet to actually play Fallout 1 & 2 so I had no idea what to expect of a Fallout game.

As far as modern fallout goes my list so far sits at Fallout 3 on the PC with no mods or expansions some time after it was released and, much like Skyrim* and nearly every other game like it back to the Might and Magic series, I ignored the main quest until I got bored of the game some 40 hours later. I will however say if the sequel can be considered a bug ridden mess I had better make sure I update it a lot when I finally get round to it for 3 was not without bugs.

*I was earning later stage abilities and had not got the first shout. In fact I have never actually played Skyrim and had a shout.
