Final Fantasy IV Released on iOS, game trailer hints to other games

Square Enix has recently (December 20, if you call that recent) released Final Fantasy IV on iOS devices for the low, low price of $15.99, and is yet another port of one of their other titles (This being a ported/remastered port of the DS version, just as was Final Fantasy III iOS). However, in the trailer for the game, they poked at, not only a Final Fantasy V remake (Keep in mind this game hasn't been redone since Final Fantasy V Advance), but "more..." would be done in a "Final Fantasy mobile revolution". Is this perhaps a hint at some kind of a Final Fantasy VI remake?

Well to be fair you can play IV DS on the 3DS.

But christ it's like Square-Enix caught the "Can't go past a certain number" bug from Valve, only they picked 4 instead of 2.

Someone slap the porting team upside the head. I've seen bad ports of games, but from something like the DS to the iOS, and running that poorly?

I guess they were too lazy to polish those 3d graphics? also I guess they also want us to pay for it's sequel separately as well eh? I would have much preferred the psp version ported for 15 than this.

Remakes? More like iOS ports of the Advance games or worse PS1 Anthology ports. A great way to celebrate FFV's 20th Anniversary I'm sure.

Also FF4 wasn't even that good, it wasn't bad by all means, but not worth the amount of systems it has been ported/remade made on.

I recall back in April 2010 that S-E were planning on remaking V and VI for the DS, but ran into "technical issues", so it stopped. They had also said that they'd keep an eye on the 3DS when it released to see if it would be worthy of moving the projects to it. That was 2 1/2 years ago, almost a year before the 3DS released. I've heard no news about it since.

I don't know- is it not around this point that the game turns into solitaire/tetris/pong and becomes something resembling a staple of every new device going rather than a distinct game?
