Few things for USBGX:
- Run SD USB: USB only for Wii games (no need to put the ?)
It's SD/USB for gamecube and EmuNand.

- Return to Loader: Yes + All mode
All mode is wrong. It doesn't work with gameCube nor Homebrew.
Only Wii games and channels, unless the user is using a different setting (Bootmii, priiloader, etc.)

- Run in neek/dolphin: It doesn't work in dolphin if you have cIOSes? I thought it worked.

- WW/VC Compat: Is that from Real NAND or EmuNAND?
Where are the compat list? I often see users saying it's not working on EmuNAND.
Which games have different compatibility based on the loaders?

- Multiple NAND support: Not limited to two. You can set a NAND path PER games (in game settings). unlimited!

* What is "Artwork" in wiiflow?

* You can add maybe a line : "Auto select cIOS". Wiiflow does it, GX doesn't.

ABZ:
Unless I'm missing something, USB Loader GX only supports d2x cIOS's. Whenever I've tried a different one, like 38rev17, upon trying to load a game, a prompt appears stating that only d2x is supported.
It supports Hermes 4+, Waninkoko 13+, (D2x is Waninkoko cIOS type, r21+)
Only EmuNAND require d2x (waninkoko r21+), but I think it worked fine with r17 but was removed to keep osmose with NAND path/file format. cIOSes use different naming convention for forbidden FAT32 characters.

I can list many examples: You me and te cube NTSC works only with NTSC nands using wiiflow,triforce,neek2o same for Bomberman blast PAL (PL,uLoader, mighty channels have no problem here)
Swords & soldiers, Castlevania rebirth, rubiks rush, target toss pro bags work only in neek2o mode
VC work better with Hermes IOS v4 or 5 (223)

Artwork is a banner-like view behind the selected game where logos, backgrounds and effects can be used (there's even a PC tool to create/edit)

I still haven't read anything about neek2o nor tested it, and I don't know the differences between Sneek/uneek except that it can read wbfs partition and .wbfs files for Wii games.

If games work only in Neek2o, it's a Nand setup problem, not a loader problem (it's just that GX doesn't work with neek2o yet).
I asked more about using the same setup.

games working on "normal" NAND not working on GX but working in other loaders.
But it seems the problematic VC/WW work in neek2o only?

I don't know on which apploader is GX based.
I gave an example above about how 2 games work with some loaders but not with others.
Moreover adding neek2o mode for GX should not be hard to implement since emunands are supported already. Latest neek2o rev90+ launch games/WW in same way the "neek2o channel is launched" all the loader does is send the ID to Neek2o.
Older revisions of neek2o were harder to setup. For instance PL creates a dedicated emunand "pln2o" where wad contents are copied and uses priiloader/neekbooter to launch the game.

You should really consider adding Neek2o environment to GX :)

It could be a EmuNand setup OR cIOS, D2X still has less compatibility than Neek as far as i know.

I dont really see the reason why "display game id" is a unique feature for postloader, I mean wiiflow can do the same, its shown in the game settings, or do I misunderstand that?

Could you re-add rev17 support for emunand? This would increase USB GX's compatibility with N64 and other VC games.
If undesired bug reports are a concern, it could be a hidden feature, or a config file only setting, so that less experienced users don't trip on it.

Also, how do I set up a rev17 compatible emunand (as far as path/file naming convention is concerned)?

I think rev17 used the same naming convention than an extracted Bootmii Nand using ShowMiiWads (and S/Uneek built clean NAND).
But it's only based on my memory, I may be wrong.
Best way would be to check the sources to see how characters are managed, and when d2x changed/added it.

I will need to check the old revision's sources to see how it was done with r17+
But I don't have a lot of time, I'm back at work this week :P

I use to be a avid USB Loader GX and CFG Loader user but switched some time ago to Wiiflow. I like it more for a number of reasons, namely the fact it sees updates far more often. I only wish DIOS MIOS would add in disc swapping already lol :P I like the themes to Wiiflow but I prefer USB Loader GX's themes over flows. CFG's themes are crap and need an over haul more options to do things with CFG's themes would be nice. All in all I'm happy with either USB Loader GX or Wiiflow but prefer flow more.

It operates and runs much smoother than the other loaders out there.

Because he doesn't check stuff. Config does the same thing, and I bet GX does too.
Please Joostin comments like these do not lead anywhere.
What I mean here is PL4 without pressing any button or touch any setting displayes Wii/GC/Plugin/Homebrew name and ID or folder name for Homebrew and partition format, and Rom path above the game title. Making this app the king of ID and folder names.
In CFG the game ID is displayed during game launch
In Wiiflow you need to select the game and press + to see info/ID
In GX I didn't find anything

I could have made a separate row for this but I elected to add this to PL unique feature (well it's not very unique but the best one out there)

Edit: I do check stuff and I always use the latest revision out there :)
Edit2: Asking for help was the first thing I've posted here since the features are endless and testing every single thing is just nuts.

But why would you want to know that info specifically when wanting to load/play something . useful maybe if your confused .. and like he says the info is there if needed... one thing that annoys is TMI when not needed . i dont see it as an asset that sets it above others ..

i didnt notice either way , im just thinking that the whole reason you all got into a wiiflow debate on "having it look sexy" is half the reason why not having that sort of info displayed makes it so. :)

It looks like you'll be busy for a while between work and data recovery, so I won't be bugging you.
However, in the future, rev17 support would be a significant addition, in the sense of increasing USB GX's game compatibility, if you felt motivated to look into it, among the million other things you probably have in mind.

Regards.

I'm just saying here that if you're the guy who wants to know the folder name of your homebrew app (in case you use many revisions of same app with same icon) or the ID4/6 of your games and channels (checking regions quickly or working a lot with wiiware and nands) then Pl4 will make your life easier. It doesn't make PL better nor worse than the others but I thought this is worth mentioning.

As I said earlier I'm trying to be as objective as possible.
Too much info is not harmful anyway, on the contrary many ppl might find a tiny feature that they like most or a missing thing that changes their mind.
Personally I still find the table much simpler than the original backup loaders table and more useful from a user standpoint.

:P

the table is a good guide for ppl not knowing what they want , but if its based upon someone wanting all the info in the world then its biased , not everyone wants TMI , personally i want slick user friendly(kids essentially) GUI . But it is all about preference i suppose thats why i think that saying pl4 is better for this feature is inaccurate. its relative.

edit:typo.

edit : but your right in saying without looking for the info its present then in that respect its a unique feature , just as in wiiflow having to click for the info is unique... so either way : as a feature im not so sure
